the interviewer seems so overbearing...every time Hozier would start to speak, she over talks him. Love Hozier for being so humble!

I think his frustration came solely from not being able to spend more time at the festivals and having to leave and not enjoy. ;)

Horrible interviewer indeed. I agree that songs can have different interpretations. I don't know what the obsession was with getting to know what an artist truly means when they were writing the song. I liked very much that he kept calm and polite.

Interesting interview. I just found it offensive when she said that it is not his voice. What does that mean? Hozier is an amazing singer why would you take that away from him right after he said that's his first instrument!

It was a compliment--she was saying that his voice seems literally divine.

The interviewer could have probably gotten the answers she wanted if she hadn't asked so aggressively. And why did Andrew allow her to shortenet his full surname-Hozier-Byrne? His responses could be seen in other interviews already. Too bad...he seemed impressed with her height, but she shot that down too. 'Got my height from my Mom/Dad, who blessed you with your height?' would have been a cool comeback. :\

I don’t know that he was that put off by her. He didn’t squirm, cross his arms & hug himself, and had very mild hair scratching behaviors. He seems to do those if he is being interviewed by an interviewer who’s asking personal invasive questions. In interviews where he is not talking about his music but about him, he gets really uncomfortable but always unfailingly polite & often surprisingly open given his obvious discomfort.

I’m watching this nine years after the fact but I have to laugh at all the comments about the interviewer. Kennedy has been obnoxious to artists and tries to get a reaction out of them since the 90’s when she was on MTV. She’s hilarious to watch. Hozier stood his own here and even called her out on her bs with the genetic superiority to tall people remark. Good for him for not letting her bulldoze over him and being such a gentlemen while doing it.

At first I thought the interviewer was a bit aggressive, only now I listen to this back a year later and I think she's fantastic! I realized her delivery is just exactly what you would hear from a man, so it catches you off-guard for a moment to hear the same force from a woman. Realizing this I think it's actually a shame how conditioned we are to think women "should" be a certain way. More power to her! x Also, great thinking on the lyrics of Church; interesting. Decent interview. :)

No lie I've always hated men's energy like this as well. What you can expect from men isn't --shouldn't be -- what is expected of them. It could be good if she seemed like she was doing it for the both of them, it just always seemed self serving to me.

Oh dear I really don’t like the sound of her voice . It grates on me. Some of her questions are interesting but sometimes she interrupts him and she embarrasses him with the questions she asks him too. . A better interviewer would not go that far and recognise that they are making the interviewee uncomfortable and change tack. Hats of to Hozier for keeping his cool, remaining polite & giving fabulously great answers to questions that would make any one squirm outside of the bedroom . Well done Andrew.

Yes the interviewer was interrupting, but also very inappropriate with some of her qts. And pressing for answers
@valeriaaugustabalbinocaval975910 жыл бұрын
@lucyfoster408210 жыл бұрын
Naw, I thought the interviewer was great. Let's talk straight for a minute. I mean yes, there's a send-up of "organizations that would undermine humanity" in the song as he has told countless interviewers, but main thrust of song is (no pun intended), "isn't sex great, it's the best", couched in beautiful figurative language that only makes it even sexier. If you've got the audacity to write and sing this song, these questions are fair game to my mind.
