Thanks a lot! And, I totally agree about how some companies make upgrading difficult. When I first upgraded the RAM on that system, I was afraid I'd break something in the process. Once I figured it out, it was totally worth it.

This tutorial was really helpful, I had to put a NvMe drive in it and everything went fine! if You use the credit card trick to help the screen come off and You DON'T FORCE OVERLY anything, everything comes out pretty smoothly! IMHO this PC it's really well built!

I recently did a SSD and memory upgrade on this model HP All-in-One 24-f0010. The hard drive case only has a small opening wide enough for the hard drive's Power and SATA connector. If you are upgrading to a SSD, be sure to buy a mounting bracket that mounts the SSD all the way to one side. The mounting bracket I tried was slightly off center and the hard drive case covered part of the SATA connection on the SSD. I had to order a different mounting bracket to properly mount the SSD inside the hard drive case.

I just did this to my C-0073W a few hours ago and it was stressful and scary. Mine didn't just come apart like this one and I kept checking the screen to see if I had cracked it. I am waiting for parts and if I get it back together, and it works.

I won't lie, I was horrified the first time I disassembled the computer. However, after pulling it apart a few times, I discovered that the screen has more flex than I had anticipated. In any case, I hope your fix/upgrade goes well!

I've been trying to find a way to open the All in One 22=dg0024. it seems to open this same way. except that the bottom part that you remove is thinner/smaller. I've tried removing it and the thing is just jammed in there. I easily got out the one at the top. I was afraid to damage it so I just decided to not open it. I wanted to upgrade it.

If you try this be super careful when you lift on the screen. The one I tried to open cracked as soon as I put slight pressure on the screen. It pains me to say this but if her fan failed, and the connections are good, I'd say that there is no fixing it. She'd have to order and replace the fan or just buy a new all-in-one PC. The advantage to buying a new PC is that it would be under warranty. The other thing that comes to mind is that the heatsink isn't getting good contact with the chipset - or atleast the thermal paste isn't doing its job.

It's absolutely ridiculous how stupidly difficult manufacturers make these products. There's NO reason that they couldn't make the thing easier to get into except what they want is for you to throw it away and buy another. I personally think that they should be end-user accessible by LAW. If I want to install more RAM or a better drive, it's MY machine and I shouldn't be forced to possibly break it when I do upgrade.

Yes, that is part of the right-to-repair movement, however, this computer is made to look sleek, so its repair method becomes more like a laptop. If you have ever worked with an iMac, you would think this is a piece of cake.

I recently found an old Macbook from 2007-ish and was amazed that you can just pop the battery out and the hard drive and RAM slots are right there. I wish every computer was that convenient to replace parts on! my other old laptops are pretty easy too, you just take out a ton of screws and the cover comes right off and everything's right there. too bad they don't make stuff like that anymore, now I have to be worried about breaking the screen in half just to open up my HP all in one.

Sorry, I've never looked into the possibility of soldering a faster CPU into an all-in-one. I'd imagine it can be done, since people have soldered in CMOS chips. A lot of reputable RAM manufacturers will tell you which motherboards and factory PCs they support - you just have to look it up on the RAM company's website. It sounds like a fan is touching something...or you are trying to run it while it is still in pieces. If the latter is the case, I strongly recommend not doing that. The system is designed to work while it is all put together. I made that mistake and "bricked" a computer. It was a lesson learned the hard way, for sure.

HP just couldn't just put a cover with few screws in the back. I stopped recommending HP for the last 5 years or so.

Excellent. It has been very useful to me. My model is not exactly the same, it is the 24-df0053ns. The motherboard model is not the same but it is very similar, specifically it is a TIMBER SSID: 86F0 and the specifications of it can be found here. support.hp.com/ar-es/product/hp-all-in-one-pc-24-df0000i/37592630/model/34955294/document/c06632076 I would like to connect a second SSD taking advantage of the free SATA connector on the motherboard but the power connector is not standard. I think it is the same as your model. Could you tell me if you know how to locate it or where you can buy it or even manufacture it. Thank you very much for your help.

Hi, Jose! Going off of the model in the video, I don't think there is another internal connector for a secondary drive, nor the space to mount it. If you are looking for a way to have two drives, my advice would be to either partition your internal drive or attach an external USB drive. Before you do anything, though, be sure to make a backup of anything important. And if you found a way around the problem that the community could find useful, please post it! Thanks.

I didn't upgrade the hard drive on the video. I just took it apart to upgrade the RAM - and felt that I should create a video on how to disassemble the system since there was nothing on KZbin at the time.
