This shows how to remove the cover from the harddrive, but not the removal of the keyboard portion. The keyboard is embedded in the top half of the cover. It would be nice to show how to remove the keyboard and / or the trackpad from the assembly.

The video was very helpful thank you I do have a question though if you could answer. I have the same computer and I've had it for about four to five months and the other day the screen went blurry then it blacked out to a very light screen. When it boots up it only goes to the HP window then the little circle on the bottom spins. It tries to do a repair but nothing happens and does not boot up to Windows. I did a system test and it said the hard drive short DST check failed then it gives me a failure ID#. It is a refurbished unit WITH NO WARRANTY and I'm at a loss. Did you have any ideas?

Thanks for this, it's useful guide. Just a suggestion... I had to watch and re-watch you unclipping the ribbon cables until I realised how the unclipping mechanism works. Even though I've seen such devices before, I had forgotten how to they work It would have been helpful to slow down de-assembly to focus on the hinged lock mechanism (I know... I feel like an idiot now I know, but it was quite unclear at first! :-) ).

Thanks... this video really sorted my problem, I initially assumed that the hard disk was easily accessible to replace it. on my hp 15-d019tu. On opening LO.. its tacked inside.. and i didn't want to break things n clips struggling with the unknown.

Thank u. I did everything u said to get to my hard drive. It worked I was just seeing if my hard drive was loose. It wasn't. So my computer still says to install an operating system on hard drive :(

Only 2.5 SATA SSD will work. You can use Caddy and then use both HDD and SSD together.

yes and very simply. You access the ram through the smaller panel on the backside. They simply pop in and out. He shows you in a tiny portion in the beginning of this video. I think there is another Video just for ram though.

You have to remove hdd and install 2.5 SATA SSD. You can put HDD in the DVDwriter area using a universal hdd caddy.

So I got to working on this laptop's keyboard. A couple issues. The keyboard is not attached by any screws but with plastic bolts. They detach as easy as taking the cover off with a wedge. Here's the problem, each plastic bolt will need to be replaced. It's a pain in the ass and I could not find an exact replica of this keyboard. And when I say exact, I mean EXACT. There are others that'll look like it on Amazon, Ebay but it's not the same and will not fit. Such a poorly made laptop by HP. The most trouble I've ever had with replacing a laptop keyboard.

I came to the conclusion that it doesn't simply remove. You have to break all the little tabs that were formed with the molded pins were pushed down. You have to do this for the brackets, and also to remove the keyboard from its base as well. Then when you put it back together, it does not get a tight fit.
