HP DV9000 take apart, disassemble, how to open disassembly

Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your HP DM3 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.

Hello Sir.. thank you ... very useful video.. but it will be very much helpful if shown their front and back sides of detached parts before keeping aside and removed screw sizes in closeup... since screws are different sizes in this laptop.

I have this laptop and loved it. It has the smaller power plug going into the side. Someone triped over my cord and bent the little prong. Not sure if there is damage to the inlet. I would like to just replace the inlet. How far do you have to tear it down for that?

Thanks. I was actually wrong about the need to access the keyboard. The problem seems to be in the mouse pad. The left button doesn't work at all. Does the video you're referring to cover this? Thanks for your help.

Do I have to remove the back screws beneath the speaker panel in order to remove it? All I really want to do is access the keyboard. Some of the keys aren't working and I think the contacts need to be cleaned or might be bent from constant mashing on the keys. A friend gave me the laptop.

Hi Regazz, pretty cool. That's pretty fast. Got one here, tried closing and looks like a hinge popped on the left side so now the lcd frame is open partially. Kind of snaps together but keeps coming apart, still worked but then got the black screen of death. Any fix suggestions?

No, not in all cases you need to take it all apart. Some vacuum cleaners can generate really a lot of static. But anyway sometimes there is some much dirt in a fan, plus sometimes you need to replace thermal paste... This videos are more like guide for everything. You just don't need to take apart everything to replace a keyboard. :)

what's that thing you remove from the hdd? I mean the little black thing? I'm helping a friend put the hdd into a 2.5 box and I don't know if he will need it, since I can't look at it physically because he's in another state. thanks

I would say remove everything and the last thing you will remove a palmrest. After that Dc jack will be accessible on the right upper corner. The pain will be to unplug a power cord from the motherboard, so I guess the bast way will be to flip the mother board out, unplug dc jack cable and then plug new on in and install everything back. Make sure you will remember where screws comes out. You can also take some pictures of a cables, how they was before. Have a good luck!!!

Hi, coke (any sweet drinks) is pretty bad... Probably you will need to change a motherboard... You can get a used, but working one someplace like ebay or something else, whenever price will be better, look for working one. It is relatively easy to change, just you need to either remember where screws go and where and how all cables are placed (you can make a picture of how it was before, prior to removing them) Of course unplug from power source, remove battery and use antistatic bracelet.

mind quit working after a diet coke got spelled on the key board turns on then then shuts off sometimes lights up but screen is blank ant ideas whats bad, i am a car mechanic work for gm i do electronics on cars but never fooled with i would appreciate any help
