In case you do not have a donor motherboard, can you say what diode is supposed to be there? I have an Elitebook 840 G3 I got for free that doesn't charge correctly and I might attempt this. Even if I can't find the exact right package I reckon I should be able to bodge an electrically similar diode in there.

frist thing you do unplug batt for few mins then plug it back in if not take cmos batt off will clear power from the board frist 2 things to do
