What is the purpose of the scanner? can I use the scanner to forward messages to a Employer or organization. I was hoping the scanner function the same as a Fax machine. Can you talk on this topic and you mention it can use through your phone. can you demonstrate some examples!

I have been using my 4500 wireless printer, then I upgraded to windows 10 ... then I needed a new keyboard (old one did not work) so I got one and a new mouse. since then when I go to print ..I go up to the rt top and click to print, then the click on the left top corner 'print' and usually prints... now after new keyboard etc. .. another screen comes up asking for more info, and it will not print because I do not know what that screen means : ( ......so why the additional step/screen now ? can you help ? I am a senior (79) and am pretty savy but this one has me stumped . your input would be greatly appreciated.

Kimberley McDowell Every month I have to scan 60 pages to a PDF. If you want that ability, you'd better not go cheap. I recommend you go for a duplex scanner copier fax. Laserjet Pro M277c6 M177w M426dw I will be buying another soon

Check out the earlier model HP Envy 100 (D410). I bought one at a Thrift store, it has everything and is a quality printer. It is built with heavy duty plastic , metal, and glass. It is very heavy but compact. It feel's much better quality than the recent HP printers. I think HP figured out that consumers want performance and care less for a quality built product. Go to KZbin and check out the HP Envy 100 (D410). Please reply. Edwin, USN (1961~1993).

You don't need an internet connection, but you do need WiFi capable devices.

Oh...use the scan document software on the PC to activate the scanner. Plug the scanner in on USB and install the software that came with the printer.

This was one of the best reviews I've seen in a long time. Was going to buy this because it's easy to get cartridges but the deal breaker for me may be that swinging arm for the paper loader. I know I'll break that thing and as you say, it's all plastic crap from China.

ya, I had a beautiful envy 100, that would not die, weighed five pound and hid the paper tray.......Beautiful appearance! I can't figure out how to hide extender arm, its stuck out ..... and the paper tray stays open? that is dusty and ugly...... as much as I love my envy 100, the envy series..... I would not get a printer that leaves the paper tray open. I have loved these printers tho..... and hope I can figure out how to get scanner going..... I miss the heavy gorgeous hp Envy 100..... this plastic thing looks like shit and it is seen. Maybe they will Bring back a beautiful not so plastic version! Ha..... that was a small rant i needed to get off my chest -- I am in mourning over loss..... But, the original purpose of my comment Is to THANK You for your review.

The printer was designed with plastic parts. So what? Doesn't it work? What material do you want them to make it with? Metal? Stop complaining about China.
