The algorithm suggested this video. It was providence. I had been searching for iLO update content but found utter trash. This was straight to the point - no filler. Many thanks to you, sir. I recently aquired my first Enterprise Server, DL360p (i'll take a peek at your video). I've toyed around w/ self hosting on consumer gear for years but started suffering from hardcore imposter syndrome. Thanks again for the solid content. You haven't posted in a while. I hope you know that your stuff is still helping people.

Great video... Unfortunately I bought a Proliant ML350E Gen8. I always wanted one, bought it for a song, only to find out that the NAND chip was shot and ILO and Inteligent Provisioning and RAID were shot. I had to buy a third party HBA to get RAID working, but I still don't have ILO.

IDK what genre this music is... some kind of jazz or what I might call "happy hour music". Jeff is a connoisseur of local brews and the background music is appropriate. I'm sure Owen has watched Jeff's videos. Owen's background music is similar and I hope he continues to make videos.

Hi! Many thanks for sharing this. Real professional job and very well presented too. You got one more subscriber :) But i wonder, what if this method fails, what if bios is very old (ver 1.04) and ILO gives "error 270 - iLO FW Communication Issue - Unable to communicate with iLO FW". So you are not able to connect via ILO to update neither bios nor ILO. is there something we can do about it? any way to update from UEFI shell maybe?

I haven't gotten into it yet since I just got my dl580 g7, but can you update firmware for different components on the board like lsi megaraid cards in the pcie slots and HP hard drives?

All firmware for HP devices can be found online and updated fairly easily. However from the iLO web interface, I believe you can only update BIOS and iLO firmware.

this don't work i hit f8 and it goes to raid card config and I have been pushing f8 for 2 weeks now and the same thing goes to raid card config what do you think I can do to fix it any help will do thanks

F8 does multiple things while the server is posting, including opening RAID config. Make sure you only hit F8 when you see the "press F8 to configure iLO" message. Your server may not even have iLO. What model server do you have?

The default username and password is different for every server, and it should be written on a sticker on the top or side of your server. I believe the default network setting is DHCP, so the IP will be whatever your router assigned.
