Thank you very much. It solved my problem but the resistor was good, the 0.1uf/10v capacitor was shorted. Replaced the capacitor and board is back to life. Thank you.

This has to be the most simplest tutorial on how to fix my pc. I had all the required tools at my grandmums and man thanks a ton. Oh and not to mention my 5 year old kid was able to replace that resistor. Couldn’t be much easier man. Many thanks!

I am glad that there are still board level techs coming up. I retired from the field a couple of years ago and too many shops are simply replacing motherboards. That costs the customer, and many issues can be solved by diagnosing and replacing the bad part. Good job, keep it going. older laptop repairs are left on my blog for legacy sake.

I have hp folio 9470m. When i plug the charger it shows the plugged option on battery for 1 sec and then removed, it happens 2 or 3 times and after that, the plugged option is not showing on battery and laptop is not charging. I thought their is some problem in charger, so i bought a brand new folio charger for 5 mins it charged the battery from 10% to 15% and after 5 mins of charging the plugged option from battery removed again, when i replug the charger again the same case it shows 2 or 3 times and now the brand new charger is also not working. Please help. I will answer any question regarding this problem.

My laptop hp 440 g2 with 8gb dual channel ram not starting. I had left it for around 15 days after getting discharged and shut by itself. What do you do if the pc was blinking red light, battery low and completely died, will not charge and there's nothing wrong with the adapter, the ac switch but maybe the cmos battery. I was hoping there was a way to fix this without taking my computer apart.

Hello There! I have a new lenovo X1 carbon Gen 7 (20QES5JT03) which I was using fine. After updating the USB-C thunderbolt firmware the laptop refuses to charge and turn on. I have tried the reset button at the back but it won't solve the problem. I am seeing a few comments saying this isn't working, that might mean that under your keyboard, it is very dirty and is interrupting the signal between the keyboard and the computer. To solve this just vacuum it. If I still does not work, that means your battery is dead and you need to order a new one.
