HP LaserJet Pro M118 M203 - HARD RESET

#Reset to factory settings. It will fit for
#HP #LaserJet Pro #M118dw, M118dn, #M203dw, M203dn.
So, here is this information.
step 1.
The printer needs to turn off by the [Power] button.
step2.
hold down the [Resume] button
step3.
while holding down the [Resume] button, press [Power], the device will turn on
do not let go [Resume] 20 sec.
A hard reset occurs.

Thank you, this works! I have an M118dw, and after resetting the device with your instructions, I was able to run the HP Easy Smart software and connect to the device. From there I was able to print the system configs, see what IP address it was assigned, and then directly connect to the device. From there you can manage/edit the printer's settings as needed.

This worked, thanks. I was not able to connect to my printer anymore at all, not even through USB, and the printer also didn't show an IP address anymore in my network. After resetting the printer using your instructions I still could not connect with it using the HP software, but at least it started to show an IP adres in my network again and from there on onwards I was able to fix it again.

My issue is that the WIFI was setup but needs to be setup now for LAN. The WIFI address is no longer available so I cannot remote into it or see it through a URL page. I am not able to remove the WIFI settings. I tried the hard reset as you said but it is not working for me either. I am not sure why HP is making this type of reset difficult for this printer. I have factory reset many others in the past with no issue. It just makes it harder to do with no LCD screen. Thanks for making this video regardless. Everything I have seen in the forums the resolution is said to be PM'd to the user. Not sure why they will not post it in the HP Forums.

Hey! Honestly, I have not tried this method on 118, but it is a 100% working method(118=203 models). And at first I couldn't do it either. It's all about the timing of pressing the buttons. Timing must be observed. I don’t know why HPs treat this trivial function so strangely. But they protect her. It is not even in the service documentation. Probably due to the fact that if you reach the printer buttons and spend 2 minutes, you can make it so that it does not print with the old settings. Security )))
