HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer (CE658A)
How to Enable Ad Hoc, modify settings, reset to factory default or assigning IP Fixe on HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer (CE658A) without access to Modem.
(HP1102W CE657A is a little bit different but should work)
1) Check your settings, to do that, press and hold Cancel button for printing one configuration page
2) We can see that there are there are some personal settings
3) We need to restore the printer to factory-set default settings
4) Press the Power button to turn off the product.
5) Press the Power button to turn on the product.
6) The product begins to initialize.
7) During init press and hold the Cancel button and the Wireless button for 10 seconds
.../... until 2 LED lights blink together, and then release both buttons.
LED lights blink alternatively until only green led is on.
The factory default settings are restored.
8) Press and hold cancel button for printing one new configuration page
9) You can see that your printer report shows IP Address to 0.0.0.0, same 0.0.0.0 for subnet, default gateway...
And the Direct Print is off.
10) Now go on one computer of your wireless domain (wired or wireless).
And launch full software from hp support
11) Follow this simple steps! (I cut a little bit the waiting time)
12) Now close all windows and come back to your Printer P1102W.
13) Press and hold cancel button for printing one new configuration page.
14) Note carrefully : IPv4, Subnet and Ip Default Gateway and come back on your computer
15) It should be 169.254.xxx.xxx, modify your network settings as following...
169.254.XXX.XXX+1, subnet and gateway as on your last printed page.
16) Open your browser and go to the http site of the IP printer address.
17) Once you are in the Printer Web-Interface,
Go to “Networking” and configure your wireless network and click
apply.
18) Configure back the TCP/IP Network Properties of your computer as origin.
19) Once it’s configured and working, you should be able to ping the printer with his new IP and configure it on all your posts.
20) That's all folk!!!

Alright guys, just wanted to add a comment about my experience with this printer. I had a lot of trouble setting up wireless printing option since the cable connection worked just fine. I would always get a blue blinking light on the printer after running the wireless configuration setup. Tried so many different things and this is what worked for me at the end. It was about the wireless router. Most of the new routers work on both 2.4 and 5 GHZ. This particular printer works only with 2.4 GHZ frequency. And that is what I needed to change on my router. In the router settings in my browser there are 2.4 and 5 GHZ edit tabs. In the 2.4 GHZ edit tab there are two modes. The default mode was 802.11 g/n. I changed it to 802.11 b/g/n mode and voila. The problem was fixed. I ran the wireless configuration setup for the last time and the printer was able to connect to my router. The cable was no longer needed. Hope this helps you as well and fixes your issue with this printer. Happy printing ;-)

Tenho uma impressora dessa 1102w....fiz tudo que se pode fazer: limpei a solenóide, inverti a borracha que puxa o papel, estiquei as molas da bandeja e mesmo assim o defeito continuava (puxava o papel um pouco e parava). Daí, observei que existem duas travas embaixo da bandeja e percebi que, justamente a trava do lado que amassava um pouco o papel, estava fora do lugar. Fiz um pouco de força e a coloquei na mesma posição da outra. PRONTO, RESOLVIDO O PROBLEMA !👍👍👍

In the Printer Web-interface, under "Networking", under IP Address Configuration -- once you select the "Manual IP" button, where are you getting the manual configuration from for the "manual IP address? I noticed the information didn't come from the configuration print-out generated by the printer.

I had issues with this Printer because of the wifi setup. What finally worked for me was press the WPS button on your router to allow the printer to get on your wifi connection. any of your wireless devices (Laptop or tablets or phones) should automatically see the printer. Now if you have a desktop that is hardwired (No wireless, setup the software and select the option wireless network instead of wireless or USB. finally worked for me

I have the same printer, unfortunally all ip number was 0.0.0.0, direct print was off, wireless disabled. I have reset to default as explained, tried to install using usb cable and HP install software, printer was detected by usb and installed usb mode, but no way to setup any wifi network in automatic or manual using ssid, after hour of useless try and try again, I have enabled wps on router, pressed wifi button on printer and magically the printer get an ip number and connected to router. Then after printed status page, I can get into configuration page of printer using the printer status ip number.

I have WIFI Networking configured but because IP Configured By =Manual, not autoIP (DHCP) the printer is unable do get IP from router. I had issues with connected to wifi and nothing worked. Not even this solution. How I fixed was simply press the Wifi button on the printer, when it stated blink I pressed the WPS button on my router and it connected within a minute. Don't need to install software for Windows 10 it simply works

Huy Vũ Lê Trần I have IOS devices iPhones and iPads and they all see the printer. Just make sure the WiFi indicator on the printer is solid blue. If if it is still blinking, repeat the step above with the WPS button on your router. You may have to reboot your router also. Good luck

It extracts all the files to a some other location. Try doing a file search for 'HP' if that doesn't work, rename the exe as a 'zip' and try opening and extracting that to a location you know.

It did help me, and then it didn't. I found that a new version of windows 10 was the problem. Try uninstalling all traces of the printer, then rather than installing the printer stuff, try right clicking and selecting 'troubleshoot compatibility'. I found running it as a windows 7 program got it working. If that doesn't work, try refreshing your pc (but keeping all your files) and then doing the troubleshooting again. Good luck...if you haven't given up after four months.

I had the same issue, I fix it by removing the printer first (you need to be sure you don't have any pending printings in the spool) then uninstall previous HP installation and then restart computer.. After that, with the printer with the factory settings and without a previous installation, I was able to run the installer and it works. Hope it helps.

Didn't do this but got mine to work by doing standard installation which ends without the printer connected to network, then upgraded firmware here: support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/closure/hp-laserjet-pro-p1102-printer-series/4110394/model/4110306?ssfFlag=true&sku= followed by: When the update completes, click OK. If you connected a USB cable to update your network printer, continue with these steps remove the USB driver that Windows installed during the connection. Search Windows for ‘Devices and Printers’, then click Devices and Printers in the list of results. Right-click the USB printer device that matches your printer model, then select **Remove Device **. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer, then restart the computer. When I reboot I see a new printer installed under the name NPI****** (Laserjet Professional P 1102w) with ****** being the last 6 of printer's MAC ID. Thanks HP for supporting your products.
