I have always been a windows user, until about a year ago I switched to mac!! Unfortunately my screen was messed up and they tried to charge me almost 600 dollars to get it fixed. So I took my money back to HP, and spent 500 dollars on a new amazing laptop which arrived today. Apple might seem good because you see all these aesthetic unboxings, but HP is a god.

My first two lappies were the Compaq series - business models NC6000+NX7400. Really loved them; They had some wonky moments, but overall I saw them as learning experiences. Then comes the Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5320 (satin black tracks, I think) - that got me into Win8/10. Then the HP Pavilion DV7-4285DX with Win10 exclusively. Now an HP DQ1038WM (Used to run 10 yet updated successfully to Win11). Aside from the UI feel (layout of buttons, dialog boxes, tab stops, menus, etc), there's not too much difference putting Win10+Win11 side to side for me. Having a cracked screen on the DQ so getting a replacement for that; Using a Dell Lattitude E6530 as I now write this). Small question; Dell has Home+End next to Insert+Del after F12? Yet you can thoughtfully put PageUp+PageDown above my Left+Right arrows respectively? Just do what the DQ series did and make the keys half the key size (I.E., Up+Down arrows+keys on the top row.

I think the laptop performance was quite well. Since my previous laptop was lenovo, I found that this laptop charge faster and the battery lasts quite a long time within 3 to 4 hours. The laptop speed is good. Even though I open a lot of software, it doesn't lag or took a long time to open.

I have an HP DQ1038WM (Doing this on a Dell LattitudeE6530 while my hp screen gets fixed - crack in it). Aside from its screen issue I haven't had any real complaints minus a "cancer" happening to the left of the touchpad. I usually use a Logitech MK295 Keyboard+Mouse Combo with that for external typing+point+clicking.

People say Mac is better because of its aesthetically pleasing design and unboxing, but it isn’t worth it for the price, not a touchscreen and it costs so much to get a warranty (care package) and it’s even more to get something fixed if you don’t buy the care package. Honestly, hp and dell are the best for their prices.

i think it is worth it for the price (especially you are high-school/ university student) because Macs are really good for "educational" things and they are fast laptops, if you wanna do professional things there's have more choices too. But If you wanna do both study/daily actives and gaming, its not worth it the price.
