i gotta ask, is magenta considered a "problematic color" for most users? i've had a ciss for years, it worked great when i was on a brand called inkjetcarts by ross hardy, but when that company went under, i had to switch back to cobra ink.. and their magenta (as well as wala ink brand pigments) was seemingly never working, ever. although both brand are now dead, i'm switching over to epson's own in house ink (542 bottle ink), i've yet to see the results as i'm waiting on my new print head to arrive.. but to the main question, is magenta usually "thicker" than the other colors? yellow never clogged for me, ever... EVER. black and cyan would have the occasional missing lines during nozzle checks if i didn't print regularly, but a soft head cleaning always got them going. magenta on the other hand, was almost always missing 90% of nozzle check lines, not because the head was clogged though.. i discovered the ciss was not dripping ink into the cart. i had to manually fill the cart with a syringe, and then it would start to print in full, but only for a few pages because the ink would run out and still be in the tank, not going into the cart. i've gone through 3 separate CISS (bought one after the other), same results.. wondering if it was a vacuum issue or air leak or something.. nope, magenta just does not want to flow. hopefully epson's 542 inks don't act like this, because it'll be my first time trying them out. if it does, do you think i could somehow dilute the ink? if so, how?
