Yes you need to reinstall windows on SSD.

How are you going to set windows on C . By just copyiny windows folder will not work properly. You need reinstall in order to window to utilize the SSD properly

i have the same model but when i asked to customer support service about ssd upgrade they told that with 5400rpm speed my model can only take upto 128gb ssd +1 tb hdd simultaneously . and other option is 512gb ssd alone after removing hdd. so here i can see u have inserted 240 gb ssd along with the hard drive 1 tb already there. so i want to know if u are facing any issue after installing 240gb ssd ? i also want to add larger storage ssd but confused by the hp support team. comment your view here please
