Chapters would have been helpful, if possible, as I simply wanted to ensure I was correctly upgrading the RAM in my laptop for the first time.

If it's your first time, you want to watch the whole video. The reason I don't put chapters is because people break stuff skipping over to the part they want. I can't stop you from fast forwarding, but if you know what you're looking for, then you'd easily be able to find the part by scanning through the video.

I have this model and the HDD connector just burnt out the moment I turned on the laptop. Upon closer inspection I noticed the empty pads above may be for where the resistors would be if the HDD did exist. Makes me angry they just put in a dead weight instead of leaving in parts where the HDD can be connected.

Thank you so much for this video. I was puzzling about the lack of CMOS battery. Does this mean you cannot operate this laptop with no battery in it i.e. using just the charging cable? I got the cmos message. Hit enter, but it fails to repair and boot. I´ve tried using recovery USB etc. It still would not boot and occassionally I got the cmos message before it went into auto repair. Then, noticed that the battery only charged for a few minutes before the light went white indicating the battery was fully charged. So, opened it and discovered that 2 of the 3 battery sections were blown. So, took the battery out and tried starting it. No CMOS message, but still won´t boot and load windows or repair. I am unsure if it is worth spending the 40 bucks on a new battery.

The date and time and bios settings will keep resetting to factory default.

@@ItsBinhRepaired Thank you for replying. Yes, that is what is happening. So, from the sounds of things my laptop is now a brick, so it is not worth buying a new battery for it. Is that correct? I was hoping with a new battery it would boot.... clutching at straws lol.

Likely motherboard, but try resetting the bios/cmos first
