You know I do not normally comment about how much thermal paste people use but um that is way to much.
@zzzzzz...99029 жыл бұрын
+gstringradio Ya I put thermal paste on a CPU for the first time about 2 months ago. I did not use that much thermal paste lol. I already knew you can fry a CPU by doing that. The computer is still running very well.
thanks for the guide, i hate working on laptops and this made it much easyer

And personally - I consider this laptop as one of the best business constructions I've tried. I have also bought the new ProBook 450 for my mother and she is very happy with it. However, it does not accept most 4GB/8GB RAM memories with exact specs as the original. I had to resell the ones I bought online. Who would have known

That was WAY too much thermal paste. Not just a little bit too much, more like 20x more than necessary to the point where it probably spreads all out around the parts and starts hurting cooling performance again... Other than that, nice video with clear (dis)assembly instructions, which is what I was interested in.
@rijden-nu8 жыл бұрын
Ok, apparently you had many more comments about that and had a phase where you removed the surplus but didn't show on video? Hmmz, if that's true you should probably put a big fat annotation there about not using that much. Inexperienced people could hurt their devices if they follow that example.

Great video, only had me confused, thought my soundcard stopped working :D. And, you should clean it better and use way less compound. Just a small dot is more than enough. You applied twice the amount that would usually be used on a full size desktop CPU. But it will spread over time. But clean it with at least something like alcohol.

Thank you very much. Thermal paste quantity - way too much, but you aknowledged it in previous comments, of course. One question though: Why do you warn against unplugging the keyboard? To avoid obligatory hard reset later or was it something else - perhaps simply it wasn't necessary at all, because you were only going to replace thermal compound paste, nothing more (no HDD or RAM upgrade, etc.)?
@workbenchstuff2 жыл бұрын
It is impossible to reach the area to change the thermal paste, so the keyboard has to be unplugged
@sawark2 жыл бұрын
@@workbenchstuff But you advised against upnlugging the keyboard: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJvInZKql72Maq8 (I mean: keyboard cable, of course) and it visibly remains plugged for the rest of your laptop's maintenance. That's why I'm asking about it.

@qdeqdeqdeqde5 жыл бұрын
@@iyadarusi8762 The 620m which i bought is enough for my needs, You could try to go for the 640m , but i don't know if that will succeed. I would recommend the 620m because its cheaper and works. BIOS is a small software part in the notebook which is needed to start up. Sometimes you need to update it - it's called an BIOS update. without it the 620m wouldn't work in my case. You can download the BIOS file and the update tool from HP's website. Be careful, if you use the wrong BIOS file, you could damage the notebook beyond repair. bit.ly/2FZgKT2

Popo Hamerupad Yes, the thermal compound is very important, assuring the optimal heat transfer between the processor and the radiator. Please go to a PC shop and get a tube.

don't use that amount of thermal paste, you will end up doing the opposite, the heat will be trapped by the thermal paste instead of conducting it to the copper bars

First you should wipe clean completely the cpu with some alcohol, use a small amount of thermal paste just a dot not a blub then to screw the heat shield criss cross to allow an even distribution of tp and pressure.
