Thanks for the video. It really helped me a lot. I notice that there four antennas, 2 for wifi and then theres other 2 that is not plugged in. The red and blue one enclose in some sort of shrink wrap. Do you have any idea what those 2 are for?

I do not think it's much better than that. ... it all depends on the processor model and the quality of the thermal paste. plus room temperature ...

NEVER touch the GPU die after cleaning. The oils from your fingers do in fact have a very negative effect on thermals. Also, that is far too much paste....thin coats conduct much better.

The music is ok, but could you have replaced the CPU with a quad core? The 720QM or 740QM? The TDP is 10 degrees higher, so dont know if the heat sink & fan can handle it. Thanks for the link for possible CPUs! What CPU did you remove?

I think it is feasible only on a model that has a graphics card on the motherboard. Because those two models don't have graphics on them...

@@j.lietka9406 I wanted to say that if the motherboard does not have an integrated graphics card, then the processor must have a graphics core. These two models 720QM or 740QM do not have a graphics core.

Don't be afraid to press pause, and move the camera for a better view. And for gods sake, normalize your audio. Almost blew my eardrums with that bassy intro.

I also have an HP ProBook 6550b, and it currently has an Intel Core i5 CPU M450 @ 2.40GHz. I see in your video that you are installing an Intel Core i7 - 640M. Can I do this with mine as well? And is this the maximum CPU upgrade you can do? Or can you install an even better CPU? If so, what is the best CPU you can put in the HP ProBook 6550b? Let me know.

If your laptop does not have a graphics card on the motherboard, this is the best option... i7-640m is rated at benchmarked 2075 while the i5-450M is rated with a rating 1234 ...

To add to the idiots reply, thermal paste provides a physical heat transference without localised pockets of heat, which loosley translated, means it cools shit down equally, with no bubbles. And I said idiot. And me speaking nerd ;)
