Nice presentation! Thanks a lot! A bit lengthy, but a good in-depth view on the capabilities of this new device. The combination of DMCP and HP-41 OS code is a fantastic enhancement to what the old real thing could achieve! The DM41X passes the threshold to take the HP-41 concept into a new future: The module conception, the backup possibilities, the CST menu, and much more is ingeniously integrated into the picture as a whole so that the old and the new stuff compose a new landscape of possibilities. The DM41X is much more than just a replica in the style of the credit card DM41, it's the basis for a whole new system which can be custom taylored to any needs. Great work, guys, thanks to everyone who worked for this project!

Great summary. Bought my HP41C in 1980. Only recently learned about SwissMicro DMX41. Received my DMx41 TODAY (Jan2). Need help with PC connection - no indication that I am connected- the DM41X does not show up as an external drive on the PC. What am I missing?

When the bug with the wrong date format may be solved, or: How I may correct this by myself? The date format is shown as DD/MM/YYYY, but there is no use of this ,,because this is wrong. Correct date format would be DD.MM.YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD only. May I exchange the „/„ slash against then „.“ dot somehow with a debugger? Thanks.

Questions: 1- Can a DM41X interface with electronic equipment like a real HP41xxx and a PIL-IO?? 2- the DM41X cannot interface with real HI-IL equipment, but can it still use the appropriate modules when they are needed to run a program or develop a program that needs to use said modules?

It's nice they kept as much compatibility as possible, but then it's a byproduct of an emulator. Nice they reproduced the original font pretty accurately too! But my main concern is the DM42-like platform because the crappy keyboard we had with this calculator, which made it quite unusable. I'll certainly wait until late reviews before any commitment, build quality is not a forte of SM.

the 41X uses a newer keyboard which has a better feel to it than the 42

Well, I accept other's points of view, of course :) But since I own a DM42 from 2017 I must say that I wasn't disappointed by the build quality of it, the exact opposite is true! I personally was always happy with the now old keyboard of the DM42. But, since the beginning of October 2020 they produce the DM42 as well as the DM41X with a totally newly designed keyboard, and since I own a DM41X for a few days now, I can say that this keyboard works very good. To state that the old DM42 was unusable due to a crappy keyboard is a critique that I've never heard from any DM42 user. Yes, there have been complaints, but by far not to this degree. But as always, many things are up to personal preferences and expectations.
