After seeing this vid, I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger on getting one as a birthday present to myself. I already have the exact bird in mind (BA G-BOAE in the current Union Jack scheme). Thankfully, DRAW Decals produces a sheet for this kit with the markings needed.

There is a build thread on Britmodeller. I highly recommend following along as this will be a tricky build in a few places. I'll have to look into those decals!

Very nice review! Thanks for posting.

You're welcome. I'll be doing their 1/48 B-36 sometime next month.

@@jpatt1000 Do you plan on building these kits? I am thinking about their Let 200 and Let 410 kits. They look like a lot of fun!
@jpatt10005 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealHawkeye Yes I do plan on building them. I got the B-36 in September and started on it as it is much easier to build as the interior goes in through the bomb bay quite easily. (I have a review of it and a build thread over at iModeler.com.) The Concorde will probably follow. I think I am going to end up sawing the nose off at a panel line that goes completely around the fuselage just in front of the nose gear bay to get everything inside. The 200 and 410 are full resin kits and should be much easier to build that the larger fiberglass birds. (I have the Il-28 and it is going quite well. Parts fit on the Beagle is pretty good and detail is amazing. I would think this carries over into everything they do.) Not MY usual scale, but their Helldiver caught my eye! If you're wondering, I would say their kits build just like injection molded kits except you have to use super glue or epoxy. If it's your first resin kit I highly recommend these guys to cut your teeth on!

That's cool,I was thinking of their 1/32 helldiver! Jman👀

I seen a review of an amodel bison made from the same stuff and inside was filled with foam. This might be the same.
@jpatt10007 жыл бұрын
What scale was the Bison? I know they've done some large planes in 1/72 but it seems a lot of their stuff is 1/144. Not too many models of the M-4 floating around. Would be really cool with the Energia fuel tank on top! The Concorde is hollow inside. I'm thinking of removing the nose to get the cockpit and gear bays inside, but I will be building their 1/48 B-36 first.

Hi. How about an update
@jpatt10005 жыл бұрын
The Concorde hasn't been started yet. I'm currently working on their B-36 as it is a MUCH easier build! I am still going through the Concorde's assembly process in the back of my mind though. I think I've settled on sawing the nose off at a factory panel line to make getting the nose gear bay and cockpit in easier. (I would be able to install the completed cockpit this way and not have to try and assemble it through the nose of the aircraft!) Still trying to figure out the main gear bays. I ma cut the entire section out at panel lines and install the completed bay and the seal the hole back up with styrene. (This is how the do it on the B-36. There is a giant section of resin to replace the fiberglass the have you remove it install the bay.) I DO have a WIP thread on the Peacemaker over at iModeler.com. Just taking my time on the Concorde though as these are expensive kits and I can't afford to screw one up. Thanks for the interest Javier! (I do believe there is a WIP on the Concorde over at Britmodeler if like me you have the kit and are looking for guidance! I'll admit to letting him take the first steps!)

jpatt1000 im a big 48th scale guy too. I have 130 built kits at the auto shop i work at. Lots of them built as a pre teen..looking forward to seeing them. Im subbed now

So have you finished it?
@jpatt10007 жыл бұрын
No. Someone on Britmodeller is building one and I'm progressing as he does. There are several tricky areas (all related to the single piece airframe) and he's come up with some nice solutions. I did get their XB-70 as well and that one is a little easier. I am about halfway through their IL-28 which is way easier. It is a full resin kit and just like building an injection kit and everything fits halfway decent.

This is nothing, they just put out a 1/48 B-36! Will do a video when it shows up.

looking forward to seeing it and your progress on the Concorde. Greetings from France.

For sure the B36 will be massive!
@jpatt10007 жыл бұрын
I have the Concorde and the XB-70. The B-36 will be started first as it looks much easier to build than the other two. The twin bomb bays will provide all the room needed to get the interior inside! The other two will be tricky. (You can download and view instructions from HPH's website for free.) I may end up sawing the Concorde's nose off at the production break. It will be much easier to get the cockpit in that way.

you did realise this kit is the 101/102 version and was different from the final production models .......
@jpatt10003 жыл бұрын
The only thing I noticed was that the shape of the nose cone is a bit off. Maybe that's why? I'm not too concerned anyway because 1/48 Concorde.

Hope you got kit for a decent price? When I saw retail $$ I almost exploded in my pants! Jman👀
@jpatt10008 жыл бұрын
I think it was about $500 USD to my door. I have the XB-70 reviewed at iModeler.com, but have yet to make a video. These two kits are pretty pricey and will be fiddly to build as they are primarily glassfibre. The resin bits are however superb! If you want to try one of their less expensive kits, I recommend the Il-28 Beagle. (As it's the only other kit of theirs I have!). It builds very straightforward and is for the most part as easy as building an injection kit as the parts all fit very nicely! (Although I'm still getting used to using CA glue. I'm used to having a little time to get the fit of parts just right before the plastic cement cures!) My wallet still hurts and I REALLY want their 1/32 Helldiver, but I think I'll pass on it because I'm primarily a 1/48 guy. The only reason I took the plunge and bought them straight away as HPH is only doing 100 copies of each and I don't think any mainstream injection company will come out with them in this scale. (Although Trumpeter may just be nutty enough to try it!)
