18:36 Maintenance is indeed important, but racing conditions are also critical, as well as driving etiquette. Dust bashing will always end badly for the engine, even if you do 100% disassembly cleaning every time right after. Touring cars running on asphalt sure last longer even with less maintenance. Thank you for the vid. Great attention to detail as usual.

@@n00b247 Yeah I agree about different track types and conditions. Maintenance items and frequency will be different for sure Trying to maintain a running engine through it’s life is one thing yet, have a brand new/unused engine with metal shaving is another. It’s not something we should have to deal with but, it is what it is and I personally enjoy working on the engines - I’m sure that both of us would agree that general maintenance, through out the engines lifecycle is important. I really appreciate you watchn’ and taking the time to write n00b 🩷 You always provide some great comments and insight

Have got g3.0 in my Bullet and it’s great. The bullet engine was seized when I got it. What a screamer it is now! Got another worn out g3.0 in a very dirty very abused bullet. Got it repinched and performed amazing. The more you look at these engines the more complaints you have. Until you run them. Then you smile and forget all the issues

Brass shavings in the high speed needle. Damn, never saw that in one of my carbs. That's crazy and easely overlooked. There is a chance it wouldn't have come out when you just flush the carb. I agree on the connecting rod puller. I don't use it often, but very necessary sometimes on a new engine. The difference in porting between the regular G and this one is huge. Great video ❤

Great video, as always! Very good overview and comparison. Now it makes sense the difference in between the two Force 18 engines. It's a shame how a brand new engine comes with all these imperfections. HPI G3.0 HO powers heaps of HPI RTR models and I don't beleive that anybody would get bothered to dissassemble and check their engine before the first start. Thank you for your effort to make these amazing videos 👍

Hey youre right about these engines definitely clean them up first before running. I had one it blew through 5 plugs because of shavings and I had no idea what was going on. Eventually realised shavings was destroying the plugs and cleaned the e engine and worked great since. Some reason their QC on the HO isn’t good must come from a different manufacturing facility with lower standards haha
