I bought my 1st nitro in 1998 from Ebay. It was the RS4. The engine was toast, so I gave the car away, and bought a Kyosho GT1. I always wanted a 1/10th scale touring car, since that was what they raced back in the day at my local hobby shop, but never got one till just recently. The Mugen MTX4r was the 1st one I ever drove, just last week...lol . I have to finish painting the body for it. I bought one of my favorite bodies for it. The Porsche 911 GT1 car from 1996. Let the adventure begin !!! Nice RS4 btw

That’s awesome. You have kinda gone full circle with your touring car adventure. I hope I rub off on you a little, so you can give the RS4 a try again. LoL. - I raced this car at the LHS also. Nitro was king back then but, it feels like the tide it is changing a bit. Nitro is coming back! - Thanks for watching and also for sharing your RC love with everyone too

Wow, I really like the "Tweak Station" topic. I know Hybrid has one, buy none of us knew what it was or how to use it. I like how you explained how the vehicle weight is not perfectly balanced , thus the shock collars need not be perfect left to right. Anyway, I would like to learn how to use because I just landed two more 1/10 scale nitro RC's!!!... One is still new in box! Perhaps you have heard of the brand... EDAM Spirit? Idk..... I haven't ... so guess I should make a video comparing them to the other 1/10 scale touring cars I have. They seem very high quality, like Serpent or Mugen., but it doesn't matter how good the car is if we can't keep the wheels planted on the ground... so I think the "Tweek Station" video would be great to learn about. Appreciate your time.
@a2rc
@a2rc Жыл бұрын
💯% agree. We have to have our suspension setup in a way to help deliver the power to the ground. I have learned over the years how important suspension tweak and other basic tools (like scanner gauge, etc) have been to running a pretty planted car. - With out tools to help you understand where your suspension and tires are, there is now way to know how your adjustment will do. It would be pure guessing. With a tweak station, camber gauges, etc you can make changes and then run the car to see what happens. Then you can adjust again and compare. - I would love to see your new cars! I have not heard RC so, yes let us know about it! Thanks again Texas 🔥💪🏻

Hey, great tribute to an iconic car. What do you do to tune the differentials? I wish there was a sealed diff for these and the RS4 3. That and finding the sway bars is what I'm working on at the moment. Such great cars hey. I also admire xray nt1 cars, they're a level up in cost and complexity, and don't have the same cult following, but still great cars.
@a2rc
@a2rc 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for watchn’ Lawrence and for taking the time to comment. 🩷 - It’s hard not to love these cars. There is a small amount of tuning you can do to the stock diffs but, they are a basic greased open diff. There was a spring kit that you could use in the diff that would do a little but, honestly they didn’t do much. Best thing to do is service them often, dial in your suspension, try different foam shores and/or rubber compounds to suit your track conditions (check tire diameters often). Different diff grease types can help too After all these years, I prefer the open diffs over the ball diffs but, I still use both (depending on the car)

Love your content keep it rolling. I’m a new subscriber but not a stranger to nitro rigs. I own a HPi Super that I just recently starting playing and it brings me so much joy. I am in the middle of upgrading all the parts for the Super and I was hoping if you can make some recommendations for some new tires for the Super. Thank you
@a2rc
@a2rc 5 ай бұрын
Hi Edwin! I appreciate you taking the time to write. - That's awesome that you are building a Super. They are fun to run, build and even to display. You can use the WR8 wheels and tires as an option (they are slightly larger in size). Some of the older WR8 options/versions had on-road tires too. - Another option would be to look into the 4Tec drag wheels and tires. They are a little different but, still pretty similar in overall size. You can also use pre-owned Super tires or find them new (NOS) on-line but, that will add some cost for sure. There are some hub conversations as well but, if you want to just to use some thing inexpensive, the current WR8 wheels/tires are the way to go. Just depends on what you are wanting to do I hope all that helps a bit. Thank you for watchn'

@@a2rc I’ve been inspired by your purple build so I’m hoping to get close to that level. I’ve already spent about $600 in parts as I am trying to grab the rarest mod items for this Super. I’m not ready for the build upgrade yet as I am still looking for more parts and once acquired, I’ll do it all in one shot. It will most likely end up as a queen shelve, lol. Anyways, keep doing your thing, one thing great about your content is educating the new and old gen builders!

*shelve queen Would you recommend running a bigger motor for this Super? I’m currently going back and forth with an old .12 SH motor and the HPi T3.0, but I feel like I can go bigger, maybe a .21? What do you think?

@@edwinparani Thank you for the kind words 🩷 That means a lot. I happy you and so many are enjoying the vids Finding parts for these cars is all apart of the experience. Some times it is difficult or can take a long time but, it all worth it in the end. - Even if your build turns out to be shelf queen quality, Run it! Some of the fun is not just to make them run well but, to look good while your doing it 💯
@a2rc
@a2rc 5 ай бұрын
@@edwinparani Even though the Super is a little bigger, it was designed to use a small block. The T3.0 will have plenty of power for the bigger tires and lower gearing (depending on what you will run). Some smaller displacement engines may have a harder time with the low end power but, will still give a fun ride - I would personably try and keep some type of small block on the build. It will fit and look better on the car too. Just my thoughts

Howdy and I appreciate you taking the time to write (and for the Sub). - That’s a good questions and yes, there are a few different generations. The 1st Gen was belt driven and had a couple versions (1/10 RS4, RS4 RTR, RS4 Racer and also the Super and Mini nitro, etc). 2nd Gen was also belt driven (1/10 RS4 2 RTR, RS4 Racer 2, etc). The 3 Gen cars are totally different and are shaft driven. There were many versions of it that came out (RS4 3 RTR, EVO, EVO+, 12R SS, etc) - There is a lot we could get into but, I hope that helps to answer your question a bit. Thank you for watchn’ 💜
