I've seen too many complaints about the RS4 Sport 3 so I've avoided the chassis. When I first saw this RTR it definitely caught my attention but then I saw the price...post-bankruptcy HPI is up there with Traxxas and there's too many cheaper alternatives available. I loved HPI pre-bankruptcy but my nostalgia has its limits.

I just bought the new hsp Acura nsx way better then this. I bought the brushed version because i bought it for 100 dollars. Body looks nice and fits perfect

@Bob Veitch The Fazer great line up or even the 4Tec 2.0. It could have been the camera angle but my motor wasn't crooked. I saw the video from Greg (RCDriver) now that was crooked😆 But I will say this HPI was made aware of these issues, hopefully the later releases don't have these issues.

Did you ever think to adjust the ride height with the shock spring pre-load. All your pictures in this video show your springs at the lowest possible ride height.

@@ReadySetRC So, instead of your first adjustment being made from the actual place you adjust the ride height from you instead adjusted the body height, cut the body, put shocks into different mounting locations, and then still never adjusted the actual ride height 🤔 mmmmmkay 👍 got it, HPI is poop.

@@preyingmathis2517 I love a debate but I'm not even sure what we would be debating about. Instead of questioning my opinion or my thoughts on this RC, what are your thoughts? How did your car arrive? What did you do to fix it? Would you recommend it? Preload to the shocks is not the only way to raise the ride height. If you believe that, I'm sorry but that is flat out wrong. I'm very clear in my video of this car has much more issues than ride height which is why I said your preload adjustment would not help but it seems like I hit a cord. Sorry if you are offended but it's true. If you feel HPI is poop, you are missing out on some great RC's. Lastly please look the several videos on KZbin about this RC, I don't think you will find one that will tell you this RC is great out of the box(RC Driver, Mark Santa Maria, Matrix RC, ZK's Garage, etc, etc..) and recommend it to a person not familiar with very good tuning skills.

I never said preload is the only way to raise or lower ride height, but it is the first thing you should try when trying to address clearance issues before doing anything else and is the main way to address clearance issues. It has the widest range of clearance adjustment. I personally don't have that exact car. I have the creator edition. And it's just fine. No clearance issues. Drives just fine. All I meant by my comment is you did your tuning backwards. And not only that but still complained about clearance after moving the shock mounting locations and still not adjusting preload 🙄👍

There is a limiter spacer inside the shock you can remove that to extend the travel.

I also like the "underdog" way of thinking so I was looking at this chassis as well as some others. Indoor carpet racing is worth the expenditure but asphalt will destroy the bottom of a chassis.

@Simon I did not buy the GT5 individually. I'm using the one I bought with my Redcat Gen8. Any receiver or transmitter with stability management could be used. Flysky, Traxxas TSM, Spektrum AVC or just a gyro.

@@bigeyefpv Of course we are joking about the bashing but I disagree this car is not setup for club racing. Not sure if the out of the box setup would meet some of the club requirements. Even if this was setup for club racing does not explain the lack of QA performed on the car. HPI set this up for speed runs, which is why they place a 70+ mph on the box and provide a few hop up options to get you there. To add, the steering geometry would be a failure on the track. Anything is possible but there are other options that will require less effort to get is club ready.

@@ReadySetRC Indeed, I'm Starting to really like some of the HPI Car builds, They seem to give a great platform to start with. I just bought a HPI 1/8 ( it's more like a 1/9 if there is such a creature ) Subaru WRX Flux. It is an absolute animal!! and if could choose just one car, It would be the Flux hands down. I'm also excited to hear that HPI are through their financial struggles and have some great plans for future releases. They can only get better that's for certain. Thanks for your great content. @@Top-Jimmy IMO that WR8 Flux is the best rally car and one of the best RC's around. The Savage XS and XL great trucks. Need a little work but once you do some upgrades, they are tanks. Looking forward to what HPI releases in the future.

@@Top-Jimmy Just no seeing this reply. Traxxas Rally solid RC. It's the LCG Slash, so very versatile. I bought mine used with the Hobbywing setup in in . I got a few vids with it too. The RC is worth a look.
