I've heard a lot of people say these trucks have issues, I have two savages really haven't had any problems with mine. as far as the hinge pins goes I seen they have caps so to speak you can buy and screw on to hold in the pins

If zip ties aren’t working to hold the hinge pins in you can use coat hanger wire or 2-3mm welding wire

The new versions have caps over the hinge pins. They also come with hex hardware, but some people complain that they strip out easy

You’re lucky. Bought mine brand new and it’s been stuck in second ever since. The adjustment screw in the transmission is a little a skew so I can’t get a 2mm driver in there. I have to find the time to take the transmission apart a fix it. What a pain… My Savage 25 never once had this issue….

I have been really wondering if I should get this one for 444€ or the new one for 640€. The new one has a few improvements, like the captured hinge pins (even though this is only a 10€ fix on the old one), 11mm dogbones vs 9mm, hex screws (although these appear to be of bad quality, according to many people) and 17mm wheel hubs + nuts. The old one also still comes with a roto start + battey included.
