Went out for a bashing and some jumping session with the HPI Trophy Truggy 4.6. I hoped everything would work out as planned, but there is always something unexpected.
First I forgot turn on the car, only the transmitter. So when the engine started it was running with to high RPM and I begun tuning it. I later noticed the steering did not work and I found out the car was not turned on.
Then I got some vapor, oil or something on the camera lens and som of the fotage looks like it is a lot of mist on the location.
I had installed an fuel filter and it looked like there where some air bubbles in the fuel tube. The engine did stall/stop 2 times so it could be the bubbles. Or it could be me who had set the idle gap to small, also I had tuned the car in the start because the car was not turned on and running with to high idle RPM.
Another thing that I am used to at this location is small rocks that get stuck somewhere in the driveline. E.g. by the center diff and diff out cups. Typically one wheel or both on same axle stop spinning or you hear this squeaking sound. Also this could get the engine to stall.
Well, I got some driving time and did record. So here is some of this bashing session also including some jumping. The car jumps nice, I just had to not let go that quickly off the gas as I can with my other basher electric cars. The setup of the car looks good. Shocks worked good. I got 100K/100K/30K - Front/Center/Rear diff oil, and it works ok for bashing. Maybe I should test a bit lighter in the front, like 50K.
Still using the stock R5 (cold) HPI glow plug and 20% nitro fuel.
