Another great build and I like the fact this trailer is a bit different from the others I've been seeing of late. I like these older pickup models - this one is fairly simple to build unlike the later model Moebius ones but seems to go together fairly well and a good paint job makes it stand out.

I enjoyed watching this build because it brought back memories. Waaaay back in 1974 my dad bought a pale blue '57 Ford F100 Custom Cab long bed Flareside with a bad 6-cylinder engine. It featured a 4-speed "granny gear" transmission, the small window in the back of the cab, and no radio. Dad and I changed that engine and that truck was the vehicle in which I learned to drive. Dad sold the truck in '75, and I last saw it in a parking lot in Oklahoma City in the late '70s. I would later discover my truck was one of only 1800 like it made in '57. The Styleside and the short bed versions were more popular.

Thank you for the tip about the wheel backs and inserting them into tires. Without that info, I likely would have forced things I didn't need to force. As much attention as Round2 paid on details like hood trim pieces, I am totally surprised they did not include a decal for the tailgate "F-O-R-D" letters. Round2 should also update this kit with stock powertrains, the 292 V8 and the base I-6. Tri-power engine was not a production motor for this truck, to my knowledge.* * However, the valve covers for a tri-power were more than likely painted gold.

Love this build (love and learn a lot from watching you). Heck - I immediately found one to add to my stash and think i will follow your lead on the two tone color. But maybe a blue color appropriate for the era as my main color. Have a couple questions. 1) What exactly is ModPodge and what do you use it for in reference to model building. 2) How do you 'touch up etc" your parts that dont get paint while you paint them on the sprue? 3) Im guessing you are using the Aleenes Gel Glue to glue painted parts together - is that the case? Thanks for the inspiration and ill admit i have bought more than this kit cause of the cool stuff you make look so good and so easily!

I’m only 73 so I could be wrong….But I’m thinking in 1961 the 292 was black with red breather and red valve covers, the 352 was black with blue breather and blue valve covers and the new 390 was black with gold breather and gold valve covers. The colors was the only way back then that I could tell the 352 from the the 390. The 292 valve covers were held on by two nuts on top of the valve covers. Hope this helps.

dipping my toe in the water so to speak iirc there was a thunderbird engine in those days that had gold colored valve covers. i don't remember if it was an option or a swap, i'm a little younger but i was working for firestone and goodyear service centers in the early 80's and saw a lot of engines doing oil changes. i don't see anything wrong with chris's choice in engine colors, its anybody's guess what that engines has had done to it in 64 years.

Outstanding build Chris! Funny thing, from the moment you did the unboxing of that kit I knew you were going to use Sage Green on it! What is the allure of that color? I'm doing the Revell Land Rover in that color and it's perfect for it! Any time I see a truck kit my Sage Green trigger finger gets to itching. And yes...my '60 Ford pickup will be Sage Green too.🤪😜🤣
