Thal major who is diagnosed need not have HPLC again . Hplc should be ideally avoided atleast for a couple of weeks from transfusion

Method HPLC ELC sample HbS HbC HbE HbS HbC HbD 1 42.70% 11.30% - It has HbS only 2 48.30% 17.50% - It has HbS only 3 3.50% 15.90% - It has HbC only 4 - - 21.30% - - 20.10% It has HbD on ELC not HbE 5 3.40% 38.70% - - 35% - It has HbC only
