Until now, I thought that their best performance of this song was at the U.S Festival at San Bernardino that very same year...but I find this one even better, especially Rob's performance.

What I have seen on youtube and at the gigs, I would say that this is the best vocal performance from Rob on this song.

I watched this on TV back in '83. I knew Maiden, ACDC but Priest was new to me. That night changed that. British Steel performance in the dark heart of German metal industry. Poetry at its best

Rob Halford sounded terrible in these years. Getting sober did wonders for his voice, later performances were so much better. His best performance on this song is the 2010 version at Seminal Rock Arena.

No lol, his voice was noticeably worse in 2010

@@tobyalder42 How so? His voice is perfect on that 2010 performance, way better than here.
@tobyalder427 ай бұрын
@@TheGreatestVoice1958 it was certainly worse than in 1983 Us Festival or many other 80s performances. He struggled and didn't even scream in many parts in 2010

@@tobyalder42 Dude in the specific performance in referencing Halford not only hits all the high notes from the studio version but even hits an extra A5 at the end on top of that. Have you even seen the specific performance I referenced? Furthermore, he sounds terrible here. Listen to how strained and out of pitch he is in the first several verses. It’s almost hard to listen to.
@tobyalder427 ай бұрын
@@TheGreatestVoice1958 Dude, Halford struggles clearly with the high notes in 2009 Seminole Arena performance, in some parts in the verses he doesn't even go for those falsettos. You can't compare this with his best 80s performances like the above-mentioned one
