Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet took the stage with veteran musicians to cover two Jeff Buckley songs and Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie” in tribute to Taylor Hawkins.
Hawkins, who tragically passed away at the age of 50, was being honoured by various musicians at the special memorial concert that took place at Wembley Stadium.
Before Violet took the stage Grohl, spoke about Hawkins’ unparalleled passion for music, stating that Hawkins was a musicologist and that he constantly turned him onto albums he’d never heard before such as Jeff Buckley’s Grace.
The Foo Fighters frontman then introduced the band that included himself on drums, guitarist Jason Falkner, Jane Addiction’s Chris Chaney, Alain Johannes from Queens Of The Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures and obviously his daughter Violet.
Grohl described his 16-year-old daughter as “the only person I know who can actually sing a Jeff Buckley song”. Watch Violet tribute “Last Goodbye” and “Grace” to Hawkins below.
