I liked Amy's comment of ' I buy whatever's on sale' lol 👍💗 This new to me way of doing a tshirt quilt was great!

Please tell me what fabric she suggests for the back to help with the weight of the quilt.

Wonderful tips and use of the different feet. Makes me want to try another T-shirt quilt.

I wish that the camera would have been more from above at certain times to be able to see the stitching.

Wondering how the bottom works out. Obviously they’re not going to all line up, so how do you address that? Great info. I love learning new ways to use my long arm.

I do have a business making T-shirt Quilts . I have clients who know what they want, it is at times hard to put these memories together, a lot of the times they want it laid out in a time line. I do want to thank you for this information. It will work for the clients that want it T-shirt to T-shirt.

I’ve done several tee shirt quilts, and swore I’d never do another, but … your method has definitely made me change my mind! I’ve a box full of my husband’s tee shirts, so I guess it’s time to go order a couching foot!

I wish I had seen this before I made mine this is so so much easier and to know you can stitch over the designs is a game changer! Thank you girls.

I appreciate the HandiQuilter videos but an overhead camera would really be helpful in so many of these videos so we could see the technique being demonstrated much better!!

How do you line up the next row since they are all different sizes. You did not show that, please
@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu70133 жыл бұрын
They are not perfect lines. They overlap and become sort of a tetris style quilt.

That batting is so nice! What kind of batting is that?

Thank you for this video and technique!! Question though, do you need to use the yarn, or can you just quilt it without it?

Good video, I quilt lots of t-shirt quilts and I've never done it this way. My client puts them together with sashing and I do use a large meander on them usually with a gray thread. I do not go over the shirts that have a large painted area or ones that have sequins or glitter, I just go around them. Thanks for this video!

Use channel locks to stitch a horizontal line and then trim if needed.

At about 5 min 30 seconds, (on this quilt) does it have a backing or just batting? Then she talks about another quilt where she laid the shirt blocks on top of that fabric which created sashing? Not quite understanding the layering and what all's there.
@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu70133 жыл бұрын
The quilt being filmed is the backing, batting, then t-shirts. The one Amy was referring to was backing, batting, solid top, then t-shirts.

Wish you would have hung a completed one behind you, and showed more of them - hard to imagine the whole quilt, and shown one with the sashing as you talked about.

I have a longarm business which includes making t-shirt quilts. I am curious about the back. How messy does the back look with all the wiggle and straight stitches on the t-shirt edges. Most of my clients care about how the back looks too.

Wondering if you thought finished edge strips could be used instead of couching. Hmmmm What a great technique for T shirt quilts. Thank you!

That is a great idea!! I haven't tried it but might need to! I have also used Chenille-it which worked great!

Are you wiggle stitching the yarn?
@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu70133 жыл бұрын
Amy did straight stitching. You can wiggle, loop, etc as long as you get the raw edges covered to your satisfaction!
