I ended up here because even though I’ve played Starfield since day 1 continuously with over 1k hours, over only just build my first ship which was a learning experience. In looking up Hab vids on KZbin, this one was recommended at end of another video and seemed interesting in what I was looking for. By 5 minutes in I can decide that this is an exceptionally well made video with care and showcasing to the viewer the look and feel of the Habs. Extremely well done. Still, what can be improved slightly is during the showcase, keeping the name or placard up of which ship we are looking at. That way don’t have to keep rewinding to remember which ship or hab we are looking at. However, exceptionally well done with the attention to detail and time went into a very high quality presentation with time and care.

I really hope Bethesda makes every hab have some sort of perk beyond cosmetics. Everything should do something like the workshop and some others. A cargo hold should add some extra cargo like 300-500 extra cargo. A battle station hab could increase your targeting or power allocation bonus (extra ticks to allocate), an engineering bay could increase your ship's repair rate or regen. Computer core could be a scanning bonus or shield systems. Stuff like that. Balance it out by making habs more expensive or more weight. All of them should have some functional purpose.. So cool we can design like this though.

This is soooo great! I get to see all the modules available. Since I'm an explorer build, my ship should be filled with "stuff" the walls should have all kinds of equipment and crates and boxes all over the place, think of the Nostromo, or Millennium Falcon, or even to add a touch of reality, the ISS, there is stuff everywhere. Diemos and Nova Galactic got it right!

Big thanks for your job. It's much easier to find all habs in one simple video instead of flying to each place, add to your ship and reload if you don't like them. For my personal taste and functionality Nova Galactic and Deimos are the best - in most cases they have more crates/box and some best unique features like mannequins in nova armory/150 mass crate in Deimos Armory or poll table in nova living quarters 2x2 which i believe doesn't show on your vid because of door in that place. Sometimes i choose one hab from others like captain's quarters from hope tech (i like their style in this one hab) but mostly nova/deimos are my way to go if we talk about habs. Sorry for my poor english.

One thing to mention the original ship also has its own specific all in one berth. And like you mentioned in another video, depending on how you connect to these, will depend on what gets deleted. If you want the all in one berth to have the science station dont connect to the front left, if you want it to have the bathroom feature, dont connect to the rear like in your video. All so very irritating. Would be great to see a break down video from you on connecting these modules and what is lost from windows, doors, or ladders being added to different locations. Thanks for this. Lots of work and effort, and helps give an idea of the styles. I think the starter Nova Galactic and Stroud modules are my favorite style. I have only one suggestion, or constructive criticism. The big doors that are added when attaching modules at the front or back end do remove some features. Just as an example, the Nova Galactic Berth 2x1 B has a bathroom in the front right corner, but because the front is attached to something in this video, the bathroom has been removed to make room for the door. It would have been ideal if the modules were shown with a ladder entry coming down through one of the ceiling nodes, as this method of attachment preserves nearly all of the features, which would help people decide whether or not to attach the fronts and backs of certain modules, in addition to the various side nodes.

Excellent work here, great overall job,thank you so much very helpful and simple yet easy to see what you want and need ,time stamps, I don't know about everyone else but I cant wait til they get more customizable everything. the Brig to me was very disappointing from every manufacture here,so much waisted space nothing on the desk not so much as a laptop you would think at the entry it would be the desk with a bulkhead door for extra security on the prisoners and then once you enter it would be like 4 cells in a row along the outside wall with the armory with another bulkhead door with bullet proof glass between the prisoners and the guard on duty and the bathroom in-between for access by the prisoners with the guard always visible or cameras at each cell on the monitors,needed to be more streamlined and less spread out. thank you again great work.

imo, i dont need any workshop other than the stroud one, cause it has research, spacesuit/weapon mod, AND industrial workbenches anything other than that you can just leave at an outpost because you'll probably need a ton of materials if your gonna do cooking or pharmaceuticals or whatever

This is great for usable features and general appearance, but I haven't found anyone that outlines what cosmetic features are lost with adding doors. For example, the Nova Galactic 2x2 Living Quarters pool table and bathroom were lost in this video (the pool table being a unique cosmetic feature that is not in any other hab in the game). I left the game for a while and recently came back. The moment I hit Level 60, I started looking at all of the habs to design my perfect roleplay ship and am creating a "floor plan" of each along with my preferred entrances. So far I've done Nova and Deimos. Preferred entrances are those that just have a wall, wall with cosmetic storage, or just cosmetic boxes on the floor. It's taking a long time as I have to include two of each hab for different entrances when viewing them, but I did figure out two types of ship layouts to include every non-2x1 hab (barely) and a second that includes every 2x1 hab. Then I go to a new manufacturer and swap the habs, making only minor tweaks in case they have different options (such as Nova only having one 3x1 whereas Deimos has 4).

this is a great video. however 1 thing to take note off is that by placing doors at the end of certain habs such as the armoury you actually lose some of storage space.

This was super helpful overall, but the placement of the doors means you miss some key features. Like the Hopetech all-in-one hab - where you have the door there are 2 extra beds. If you decided to revisit this video, using ladders to enter the Habs would give the full view of what it would look like. Overall though - this video helped me a TON early on, and even hundreds of hours into the game, I still come back to this video to decide what connection points I want to use/ features I don't mind losing. Thanks.

I just love this game. I know that there are people that have hate for this game but I have been playing this game almost everyday since day one and still not tired of it. I have not done any ship building yet but I have done some ship add on stuff and soon I'm going to try doing some ship building and I'm going to use this video for some reference thanks for sharing.

It makes no sense to me how people that have played and liked bethesda titles of the past couldn't like this game. All their complaints sound like they wanted a flight simulator. What bethesda rpg ever did anything like this with a vehicle? or have vehicles? lol I've concluded people have bad taste in games and should stick to their online endless circle jerks.

Of course I would find this video after spending nearly 3 hours looking at the different modules for my ship. I was a bit disappointed to discover that each of the manufacturers weren't unique.

I didn't even know some of these parts existed. And good old nova galactic fails to disappoint again. They seem to be the only spaceship manufacturing company that doesn't build a spaceship like they're on crack. "Sir people are loving our designs so far what should we do next." Make a concussion toilet. "What?" What are all of our competitors known for with their toilet? A decently open space everything safely in container so if you turn on the shower they don't get wet. That stupid. Put the toilet directly in the center put the sink right above right head level that way if you use the toilet you crack your head on the sink and you want to wash your hands you have to straddle the toilet. Also remove all of those containers. I want my toilet paper stopping wet if someone decides to use the shower. "Mam people are loving the fact that we've added navigation consoles" great now put everything possible in the walkway. Make sure it's a pain to get from one end to the other. Plenty of space to put it in the wall? Your fired! We strive to be as inconvenient as possible!

Well, I learned three things here. 1. Deimos and Stroud-Eklund have very similar to same designs. Stroud just looks a little nicer, if you like white over black. 2. Deimos, Stroud-Eklund and Nova Galactic have, in my humble opinion, way nicer interiors than Hopetech and Taiyo will ever have. The latter just look too crude, unfinished and rough. The former seem to be for more sophisticated designs while the latter seem to be more appropriate for cargo and mercenary work. 3. There are more habs than I thought. Although, a few new leisure rooms such as a library and natatorium would be nice. A mod like this would be great.

On the inside: each ship you build will 'work' better if you stick to a single brand Hab-wise. But the cockpit and maybe whatever's next to the cockpit can be a different brand, because a change of atmos / lighting when you enter the cockpit area is nice. Ditto Engineering probably. On the outside: go as far as you can with that^ single brand, and then hammer out the details with whatever 'Structural' components fit your vision. Colour them in well and it'll be FINE. Tap into your Lego childhood to work wonders within severe limits. That's the joy right there. Ship building is the best part of SkyFallSpace, amen. This video could cut out all of the Top/Mid/Bottom repetition, honestly, and replace it with what happens when you put a window there, or an engine adjacent. Oh no I put in a skylight and lost a navigation table somehow! But big thumbsup for a video with no ladders. Oh and all hail Ron Hope, or whatever his name is.

What do the terms "Top," "Bottom," and "Mid" denote? What do they mean in regards to the modules?

Just the exterior, so you can mix and match where to place each part. If you take a closer look, you will see curves at the top or bottom, while the mid is completely flat.
