a question I wanted to ask a question related to the resurrection, how can we believe in the resurrection if it hasn't happened yet and has never happened? Answer (Rabbi Yehoshua Shapira) Our faith in the resurrection of the dead is not by things that our eyes have seen in this world, but by our encounter as a whole nation with the Lord of the world. His promise in the Torah that we will rise to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the next world. Although in the Torah itself this was implied, (Editor's note (S.R.): In Deuteronomy Galatians it is clear "I am true and will live, I will divide and I will heal" 2. In Parashat Akab, Deuteronomy Yacha "so that your days may be long...on the land which God swore to your ancestors to give them like the days of heaven on earth" - He did not say to give to you, but "to give to them" hence evidence that the ancestors will be resurrected! And yet, in the hints found by sages in the Torah for the resurrection of the dead, they found such a strong belief that they said that whoever does not believe in the resurrection of the dead has no part in the world to come and will not stand for the resurrection of the dead, the Rambam listed belief in the resurrection of the dead as one of thirteen principles which One who does not believe in him is outside the bounds of those who believe in the faith of Israel. This faith comes to us from a divine revelation of who he was, who he is and who he will be, he created everything, he manages history, the past and the future - and he informed us that his goodness and grace include the supreme good that will appear in the resurrection of the dead.
