Us guys who are disabled and/or who otherwise can't travel really appreciate the time and effort you expend to bring the fests to us. :) It truly is the next best thing to being there. Too many are asking new prices for used radio these days. Saw a guy posting a radio for more than new price so I messaged him to see if maybe he just forgot to list any extras with it and to make sure he knew the brand new price on it. He said nope just the radio as it comes and he did not care what new price was that was what he paid a few years back. Just crazy

Great find, the Elecraft K1. I found one at Dayton hamfest earlier this year. Grabbed it and held on tight. I love it. 6 or 7 watts and down. Tuner battery built in, no backlit, put one in myself its just OK. Great receiver! This radio is only going up in value. A collectors dream and a perfect cw QRP. There's a learning curve, I'm still not sure about how to use the tuner, it just seems to work. Don't know how to read the swr, head scratching! I bought mine In a fast minute when I found it, $420, no NB or back lite. You did well. I look forward to your vlog coverage when you're getting to know it and use it . I miss my K1, but I needed to let it go to finance the next Elecraft. I've had all of them except the K3/K4. The only thing I wished the K1 had was a bit finer tuning. Great rig.

I've got an 897 with more gaps than actual functional lines. I've tried to fix it myself, and have looked around, and I can't find any good information on how to actually fix it, short of replacing the cable, which has been unavailable for some time now So how do you fix it?

I use my 897 as a door stop. The display and the VFO both are useless. I should never have bought the goddamn thing. Stay away from Yaesu.

Question from a new ham like me sir. In your opinion, what would be the best used ham radio that is not digitally dependent? I just like radios that all the controls are on the front panel, no menus. Simple but efective. Appreciate it much.
