Chijioke, something must have made you express your frustrations this way. As an Igbo man from Ukpo Dunukofia, Omambala, I am happy that we have found another Osadebe in you, potentially greater than the man himself. However, I think you should have expressed your concern in a more tactful manner than the way you did in this song. The melody is so sweet that the confrontational song did not deserve it. Highlife music is a Ghanaian invention which the likes of Bobby Benson, Osita Osadebe, Rex Lawson, Celestine Ukwu had to emulate from highlife giants like E.T Mensah and Ramblers dance band from Ghana. Traditional Ogbaru music is/was Amakekwu, Agidigbo and Kokoma. These were the genres Osadebe grew up with and not highlife. I don't think Osadebe would have sang the way you did in this song, remembering how he left for Lagos in the 50s to learn highlife music. I am sure 10 years from today, you would wish you sang this song in a different way. It is always better not to rush into the studio when you feel offended. Anyways, thank you so much for stepping successfully into the big Osadebe shoe. (Ositadimma Ezeaku, LLB Hons)

Thanks for taking out the time to write this wonderful critique. Chijioke is human and sometimes things get to us especially when we are being disrespected or treated with disregard. Personally I think you are right, this music could have been delivered better. But on the other hand I have been a witness to some of the unnecessary criticism and abuse he receives and for that I understand his frustration and wouldn't blame him. While this music might sound like he's boasting to a person who does not know about him but to me who understands and follows his music will know where this is coming from. At the end of the day how you see this song depends on your perspective.

I agree with everything you said except that Ukpo is Omambala. Ukpo is Okofia descendant of Nri part of old Njikoka which was LGA Formed from old Umunri and Umuowele. That Ukpo is next to Awkuzu doesn't make it Omambala. Unless if you want to make it politically which makes all Anambra Omambala since the state was named after Omambala River (Anambra) Ukpo is not Igbo adagbe. Go and check your history. I am from Umunri and know that Ukpo is related to us.

Highlife was invented in Sierra Leone by the Kru people. They called it palmwine music. A Ghanaian (Kwame Asare) went there to learn palmwine music and took it to Ghana

Yep, your characteristic and usual self praise that unwittingly reveal your frustration and character flaw. No doubt, you are a very good musician. I love your music with the People’s Club international track my favorite. However, you should have a sense of moderation. Your music will shone far better without the unceasing frustration you constantly express in your tracks. You need to develop some thick Skin.
