Hartford HealthCare is on a continuous journey to improve the quality and safety of the care we provide. To make care safer, we embrace the goal of becoming a high reliability organization (HRO). While the concept of high-reliability was pioneered outside of healthcare, it is highly applicable to healthcare and has been successfully used in healthcare settings across the country to prevent medical errors and medically-induced harm. With the adoption of HRO behaviors, patient harm can be drastically reduced, if not eliminated.
