One of my favourite Martinu compositions ( i like them all ! ) Excellent performance and an intriguing setup for the players under Covid conditions. Bravo to everyone and please , please let's hear more Martinu in our concert halls. Surely audiences are now oversaturated with the works of Mozart , Beethoven and Schubert. Great as these composers are let's hear more Martinu, Janacek, Nielsen, Barber and Britten . Even Bruckner's 2nd and 3rd Symphonies ( both are musical gems) are rarely heard, and finally there's just so much fine work from Respighi that we never hear ( apart from the Roman trilogy).

Many thanks for sharing one of the more popular, but still seldom performed, works by Bohuslav Martinů. Mr Orozco-Estrada is a most effective advocate, and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony turn in a splendid performance as usual. I look forward to each video program; for the selection of repertoire is imaginative and most engagingly performed.

It is so wonderful to see, and hear the orchestra coming together again. The choice of Martinu for this performance was an excellent one. This concerto conveys strength a strength we need in these days. So from my heart a thank you and a huge Bravo!!!!

What a worderfull and very interesting concert, unusual to write for two orchestras, piano and timpani, something like to the Bartok's orchestral concert. What i listen here , is an impresive music , full of strengyh, anxiety and nervousness and it's not for less, written one year before the second world war 1938 (i think) where the relationships among the european contries start breaking. It sound like the Shostakovic's symphonies ( but diffrent character of course) in the period of the brutal dictator Stalin. Great performance of FRSO and congartulations to Andres Orozco ( Colombian conductor , a proud for Latin America )

Wunderschöne und spannende Aufführung dieses perfekt komponierten Doppelkonzerts mit klar artikuliertem Klang des genialen Soloklaviers und rhythmischen Tönen der ebenso genialen Soloschlagzeuge sowie farbenreichen und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen zweier kompakten und ausgezeichneten Streichorchester. Der intelligente Maestro dirigiert alles im veränderlichen Tempo und mit völlig effektiver Dynamik. Wunderbar und atemberaubend zugleich!
