Always something new to explore in Classical music... This piece is new to me and very lovely. This orchestra is such a servant to us all during this time of global loneliness. Thankyou from the heart of Nebraska, USA.

Standing ovation from Japan . . . alone in my painting studio . . . moved to tears. By the magnificent sound (boy it's amazing what social distancing does to the orchestral sound). By the musicians' obvious exultation in the music. By the indomitable human spirit so abundantly on display - nothing will stop you from making music! Thank you so much Frankfurt Radio Symphony for this transcending dedication to music and to life in this difficult time! An inspiration to us all. I now again pick up my brushes and I too carry on with my art, exulting through paint in the infinite beauty that, despite everything, always surrounds us all! When the pandemic eases, a trip to Europe to hear you in person is very very high on my bucket list!

Outstanding! Mendelssohn has never been one of my great favourites however I've always loved this work. Why it isn't performed more often is a mystery to me. Grateful for the upload.

Einfach wunderbar!

This Mendelsohn piece shows a lovely sweet Romanticism that puts one to dream. Great performance of our HR FRANKFURT Sinfonie conducted by Orozco-Estrada. Thank you. Viel Danke. Muchas gracias!!

Audio and video quality, both flawless! It’s lovely to hear serpent (a woodwind instrument, a distant ancestor of the tuba) with clarity! Beautifully prepared and implemented performance, reinforced by the acoustics of the church that is wrapping warmly orchestral tones. Thanks a lot!

Thank you. I was not familiar with this piece. It lead me to read the poems written by Goethe so that I understood Mendelssohn's inspiration.

Lovely, but compare this tame piece with Beethoven's setting of the same epigraphical Goethe poems. Mendelssohn does nothing with "Keine Luft von keiner Seite! Todesstille fürchterlich! In der ungeheuern Weite Reget keine Welle sich." Beethoven, who never set foot on a boat at sea, sets the text as if he knew the real terrors of being becalmed in a wind-driven boat. Beethoven's "prosperous voyage" is a joyous relief after the fear and danger of being becalmed. Such different visions of the same text!! I've been becalmed at sea under sail; give me Beethoven's realism!
