Actually the 7/7 buff wouldn't work on tarec, as it happens on tavern fase, like spellcraft. In fact, I believe the change was to have more combo potential with dragons

I suppose I could have said this better. 1) they changed the wording on the spell to be “start of combat” instead of “until next turn”. 2) now that would be too busted as a 7/7 so they’ve changed it to +2/1 for all minions. No doubt 7/7 would have been waaaaay too much in with tarecgosa. It’d be an autobuy on nearly every one seen. It’s a lot easier to get 1 tarec than a full dragon synergy board

Wouldn't fleeting vigor have not have effected teragosa because it was applied during tavern phase?

it's more a 2-part analysis that I didn't really say clearly. 1) They changed the text from "Until next turn" to "Start of Combat" 2) Now it's OP for Tarecgosa so It's being swapped to a lower permanent snapshot of +2/1 per minion.

It sounds like you're under the impression that Gem Smuggler only plays blood gems on Quillboar; it actually plays gems on all minions. Imagine how quickly your Brann will get huge if you play a few gem smugglers with buffed gems.

@@bofur tbh I think gem smuggler is probably going to get a hotfix. Similar to how Murky needed a change because of the highroll potential, gem smuggler could easily give your board +20 /+10 on turn 8 with Brann, and by turn 12 it could total up to hundreds of stats per smuggler, and since smugglers can proc off fluidity and murk eye, plus buffing cleaves and divine shields, it's just too much highroll potential online too quickly. But I bet it'll make for some good videos

Some things you missed/skipped over: Brann requires buying 4 Battlecry minions rather than playing them, so no discovering from scout etc. Magmaloc scales based on minions played that turn, not cards. Tarecgosa wouldn't keep the old 7/7 Fleeting Vigor as it wasn't applied during combat so it would stay temporary as opposed to the new version which does synergize. Also, I'm personally kinda happy there's no Leapfrogger coming back this patch, it would kind of go against the Beast rework idea to bring back multiple buildarounds IMO. I'm excited to try this new fresh take on Beasts instead.

@@bofur In that case nevermind me, it can be hard to remember all these cards correctly when there's no collection you constantly see them in like with constructed Hearthstone ^^ Love your content! I hope the new patch will bring more gameplay variance due to having less scam. It's gonna be interesting to see how scaling and counterplay lines work out with this huge amount of changes.

Haha all good. I like reviewing the videos like this before doing live analysis on twitch so this gives good indication of areas that may be confusing or poorly explained. Like the magmaloc example: it’s always been that way but it was pretty much irrelevant whether it said “card” or “minion” a year ago. There were coins and such but no huge influx of spells. Now it’s a key clarification point. I’d never have thought of that without ur comment :). So sincerely, Ty.

Octo on 5 is going to break the game. If beasts are in it will be a race to tier 5 just to find Slamma and Octo. Magmaloc plus the elemental dragon means Master of Realities is about to go through the roof as well. Moving econ minions to tier 2 is going to break tier 1. The first turn is semi important in most games, without economy the first turn is just going to be "Buy biggest minion and pray". I don't think this will be a very good patch. They nerfed/buffed the wrong cards and moved them around for apparently no other reason than to just fuck with the status quo and completely destroy the current meta. Granted, it will work, but that just means that Terecgosa and beasts are going to be the main tribe almost every single game. This feels like 2022 all over again. Just without Promo Drake.

Ahh but alas, slamma is dead along with 10+ core beasts. So is master of realities. There’s 50+ new cards coming and 67 removed minions announced last week as well. Edit and promo drake is back too lol.

Also just a note: Econ minions turn 1 have had lower play impact than 2-3 of the other options for a few patches now. Especially with spells in, card quality can outvalue a gold for many heroes/opening curves :) I wouldn’t jump to disaster so quickly. There’s a lot changing and it’s hard to gauge this without playing
