Im a HCA, we're desperately short staffed for elderly care. I mean DESPERATE!!!! And to see that article on the HSE recruitment freeze, its a slap in the face. We're pulling all sorts of shifts and driving many km distances daily just to provide cover to as many people as we can for little pay, burn out and lack of staff is hitting us hard.

I knew a Nigerian that came here with fake papers from a college that no longer existed. He couldn't get hired with his fake papers, so he pulled the race card. NUIG put on a ceremony for him and gave him an honorary degree. He was furious because it wasn't as advanced as the one he faked. That's what's allowed to practice medicine. If you doubt it, take a look and tell me I'm wrong.

The teaching profession is going the same way. They are working to get rid of Irish language so that they can open the floodgates. Norma Foley told gript last week that they have 78,000 teachers, but nobody asked her how many have full-time contracts.

This has been going on for decades. I left nursing 10yrs ago .. all the newly qualified nurse well most of them weren’t given jobs and moved abroad while they continued to give jobs to Indian & Filipino nurses that put even more strain initially because their English wasn’t great and took them ages to get signed off in giving IV’s .. sone worked out brilliant but why did we let our own students down so badly when they were all mostly excellent and knew the whole system so well.

Dhia dhuit. Reminds me of healthcare in Maine. Pays bank to travel staff but pays as little as it can get away with to in-house staff. Its really insulting bc alot of travelers are basically collexting a check and dgaf. They sleep, they dgaf about the patients, residents and this rises to the level of neglect
