[HSH] The last passenger trains in Albania, May 2022

Albania is a small, inconspicuous country in southern Europe with a great history. Since the fall of Enver Hoxha's regime, the country has been developing slowly but steadily. Only the railroad has been politically disadvantaged for many years. The state railway company HSH has long been at the lowest point in its history, but primitive railway traffic is kept alive every year. The appearance, which has been rotten for years, and the nevertheless very friendly and dedicated train staff have long since achieved cult status among railway enthusiasts. I, too, have taken the HSH to my heart despite its deplorable condition....

Since this video was taken, Durres station is being completely rebuilt and the line to Tirana renewed. I visited in March and work was progressing well, so sadly I never saw the old Durres station!

Das Zustand ist so traurig, dass auch den schlechtesten Eisenbahnen in Rumänien in besseren Zustand sind als diese Eisenbahn.

Sehr sehr schade um die FS-Wagen, das bricht mir als Italienfan echt das Herz.. anderseits muss man sagen dass sie und die Halberstädter wahrscheinlich echt für einige die Rettung sind das was fährt, da ist der Zustand für viele denke ich ganz unten

Cóż kolej wymaga niestety inwestycji. Jeśli ich nie ma to niestety kończy się to smutno. Gdyby wyremontować torowisko przeprowadzić elektryfikację i odmłodzić tabor pewnie byliby i pasażerowie i chętni do skorzystania z przewozu towarów. Niestety na to są potrzebne bardzo duże pieniądze no i oczywiscie to wszystko nawet gdyby wykonywane było przez super fachowców musi potrwać i to obawiam się iż łachanych kilka lat.
