i don’t think it’ll end up in her just getting hurt again. ricky in s2 was in a relationship and hyper focused on making it work bc it felt safe and his fear of change. ricky couldn’t be the person she needed in s2 for many reasons and he never intentionally hurt her or even knew what she was going through. he was also not the only or main cause of her sadness but being in love with a guy with a gf is going to hurt but it wasn’t ricky’s fault. he also didn’t even know she didn’t like the fact she was giving him advice bc both times before he asked himself she was the one who gave it unprompted. he didn’t even ask for it and even tried to stop big red so of course he’s going to think it’s ok to ask her. he understood it wasn’t ok when she made it known and never asked her again and even gave her space when she wanted it. they were so happy in s1 before it got ruined by gina having to leave. just bc we didn’t get to see his feelings fully bc they got cut short in s1 when they were developing (bc gina told him not to contact her and the flashback scene they both thought was a goodbye and he already confessed to nini at that point) and he fell back into nini bc of his fear of change i don’t think means he could never like her the way she liked him. he didn’t think about nini or talk about her at all in s1 in episodes 1x06-1x07 and in the show was canonically weeks him and gina were hanging out.

thank you for commenting this because honestly I had completely forgotten what really happened in the first season! You’re absolutely right! In the end I just want Gina to be happy, and also Ricky & EJ. If Rina happens this season I hope they enjoy it and no one gets hurt, Ricky has been through enough and Gina is finally settling ❤️ I should go back and watch season 1 because season 1 rina was so cute 😭

@@imactuallylily lots of ppl it seems completely forgot that it was Gina who shut out Ricky and closed the door on a possibility of them which caused Ricky to shift back into what he found the most comfort in (Nini) since he's always been afraid of change. It's too layered to be that simple. He definitely had feelings for her in S1.

I don’t see how anyone saw those Ricky and Gina scenes and saw only friendship. They were flirting. It’s called foreplay.

I definitely felt the banter a little friendly but only and probably because both Ricky and Gina are guarding themselves since Gina is in a relationship, however, I definitely know they both want to explore the feelings again. We’ll have to see where they take us 🤔

I am #teamportwell. It is the first time that Gina is dating someone. If she gets hurt again cz of the love triangle, she would want neither EJ nor Ricky as her bf. It is better if Ricky and Gina stay close friends cz not only would Gina be hurt if they were a couple but the rivalry between EJ and Ricky would be back! We don't want anymore Drama, do we? 😅🤔🤭

I mean the show is a drama musical comedy so yes we do want Drama to keep things interesting. Gina clearly has feelings for Ricky. So she either needs to properly explore them if Ricky is willing or be single.
