GET IN THE SPIRIT!!! If you are going to worship in song, you have to be in the SPIRIT! I felt that one! Get those lead singers into the WORD, so they can say something more than 'Yeah, yeah, yeah'. Think about David, how he used to sing, he could go on and on for days! Umm..where does it say in the Bible that we should compete with other Christians for a recording contract? This whole idea of a "gospel" competition is not of GOD. This is the stuff the world does. God has already provided a way for us to use of gifts & ministries. That includes finances & exposure. God never asked us to compete with anyone because we then are comparing our gifts & callings to someone else's. Shame on the creator of this show & sunday best & the ppl who audition like desperate sinners.

You say finances and exposure but do churches pay soloists, background vocalists, instrumentalists as they should be paid? They aren't competing in ministry, they are assessing the technical side of things. They want skilled people who understand the implication of true worship to handle worship.
