Im sry if your up set but a simple google search or even here on youtube will fix this miscommunication mate. The FPV Supercharged V8 motor is made here in Australia it is called the Miami, the youtube video that FPV filmed last year showing how the make the engine is a really good watch. check it out. P.S you do know that the Commodore is finishing in 2016 as well.

It did a 4.7 0-100 and a 12.7 quarter on soaking wet roads.. how is that bad?

I always found that HSV’s were made for larger people, seats don’t hug you as much as bmw or audi if you are below 90kg... Nice car though...

As a holden fan i saw on the website, its bassically an esc tech which when you hold the accelerator slightly during a turn, the rear inner wheel disc brakes will apply slightly while the outer wheel still revs fully, e.g if you turn left with it, the left rear wheel brakes will apply slightly, the extra force specifically at that area will increase rotation and imporve turning performance

GT modified... HSV hasnt ever introduced a car that is loud. Why do you think people get after market exhaust systems - so they can get more power and to get rid of the silencers. If you want to hear blower whine then get a cold air intake! And by the way, its the best ever GTS because it is more sophitsiticated than HSV that has ever been brought out and it is the fastest without a doubt

As a HSV man I have to say if I was to have the GTS I would have to do some suspension work to rid the car of the understeer and body roll. Stiffer anti roll bars and springs with ome good bilstein shockers should do the trick

Its true that this is easily a better car than the FPV GT which has a great engine but not the chassis development to match. Still I'd probly based on personal preference and budget be more likely to go for an F6 or FG XR6T which with a tune up can put out some impressive hp. Well done HSV for introducing torque vectoring this tech should be on all RWD Holdens and Ford's but unfortunately both are on death row(:

Hey i don't remember how many people saw the Holden SS ute lap in the Nurburgring but I reckon HSV should take this out to the track and see how well it does

Wow! this Car is Awesome!!! it will eat the FPV GT 335!!! Lol and it's also miles ahead in technology! it's not all about straight line, it's the overall Package! and Holden Has done a good job imo!

Um Toby the motor is not produced in Australia it is shipped over in a crate from America. If you want 100% all Aussie manufactured v8 you have to buy the FPV GT. Ford are the only company building v8 in Australia anymore, Holden gave that up years ago.

and the 80k AMG would struggle to match it you have to go up to an AMG E63 S until you have a comparable car and thats 240,000 gone out of your pocket. the mercedes are beautiful tho.

You have gotta be kidding me. Check out the latest wheels magazine buddy. They managed to do 4.7 seconds (0-100kmh) and a 12.8 second quarter mile....In the GT R spec they did 4.5 (0-100kmh) and 12.6 in the quarter mile when they tested it.. So who's ripping who? get ya facts straight before ya start talkin sh*t. The new GTS may have the technology and handling but the GT is still the horsepower and muscle car king (after all, muscles cars are all about straight line speed)

Lol gt wins on the dyno and that's it. Only because it runs the standard driveline where the lsa powered hsvs have stronger diffs and driveshafts. Gts is faster in every way. But dyno papers look good down the pub circle jerking with your ford mates I bet.

The drive train us disappointing... That's all there is to it... Sure the car is more advanced than FPV gt which was debut on 2010,and so it should be. But the lack of straight line performance is inexcusable

SSV Redline with a supercharger will get you 30kw more power and blow this out of the water and you get your whine

Not really this has bigger brakes better suspension. Stronger driveline and torque vectoring diff

who cares where the engine is made. HSV put a shit load of research and development dollars into getting this drive train to fit so that the Aus market can have a class leading performance sedan that actually takes the fight right up to the big three from Germany. Ford Australia and FPV were not even a consideration for competition during HSVs devlopment of this car. The GTS is well above the FPV GT in handling and performance. It is a whole generation or two ahead in features and tech too......

i suggest everyone does a quick search to see what power this "powerful" aussie road car is ACTUALLY putting down. In reality depending on the dyno it is either side of 300RWKW. talk about drive train loss....or just blatant marketing hype.

Never seen any below 300kw but whatever still quicker than ant factory falcon. Dyno papers are for bragging at the pub. Maybe look into what drivetrain it has. 9.9" diff and stronger driveshafts will always lose more power. Why do you think the falcons have overboost? To protect the standard drivetrain.

Expensive track car for the streets. Plus it only makes about 320rwkws...the same as ford GTs. It's only marginally faster because it has expensive to replace and fast wearing sticky tyres. So if you actually use it...it will rip a massive hole in your pocket. And it's nearly twice as bad on fuel as the M5 and Merc they think they're competing with. Bogans......

you may say it is the fastest production car in aus but the gt r-spec is faster 0-60 and down the quarter. but if the handling is as good as the ve it will kill the gt in the corner.

It's funny how the media conveniently leaves out facts that directly destroy a good story. The gt rspec is still the king......and for a whole lot less. It's disgusting and shamefull how much Holden focus on being the fastest...when there not. For the money they dam well should smash a GT. as for the supposedly faster,lighter Ssv ....my 2 yr old G6ET beat one by a car length yesterday. Not very impressive....oh but it chirped every gear if that counts lol.

Not to mention it's an all American engine, payed by the taxpayers. At least the ford v8 is 70% Australian built and the street king and world bang for your buck car.....the ford turbos, are Australian 100% muscle.

so what HSV is trying to tell me is that this is the best ever GTS because its quiter, the blower whine is deliberately silenced, its heavier, more american, worse looking than the last GTS, and more civilised on the road. who the everloving FUCK buys an HSV in the first place because its quiet and easy to live with? you buy an HSV because you want it to be fast and loud and in everyones faces because its aussie muscle (i say that ostensibly) at its best,m not fucking neutered. fucking terrible

Toby hagon is a big Holden fan and always provides a biased view favouring Holden ... I think this hsv looks shit... Looks too much like a standard commodore ...
