Whats up with people saying the HTC 10 has no stand out feature? It has a built in 24 bit High Res DAC with its own amp for the headphones too! Its an Audiophiles dream really. Sure its not for everybody but for us who it does matter to, its a huge freaking deal! Also Uh Oh protection for a year so you dont have to even buy a case or anything since HTC will replace it for free one time within a year. I personally only last 3 months at most with a phone but I think im gonna stick with this One for a good while longer. Especially since I wont need an ugly case to hide this beauty!
@robg9158 жыл бұрын
Good points bro, I got the A9 because it has a good DAC/amp and I also appreciate good sound. I just had to use my uh oh protection as well and the experience was pretty painless. Im planning on getting the 10 soon looks like a great phone. I really just wish it had stereo front facing speakers.
@soleil3gs8 жыл бұрын
+Seriously Google why is this even possible? Bro you should be ashamed of lying like that. The exynos processor destroys the snapdragon 820. Everyone knows that, it's more efficient and more powerful
@soleil3gs8 жыл бұрын
+Seriously Google why is this even possible? I think you want to believe what you want to believe. In actual reality the Exynos smokes the Snapdragon SoC. Take a look at the galaxy S7 for example, or the HTC 10 and compare them to the S7 using the exynos SoC. the exynos S7 has significantly better battery life than both the HTC 10 and snapdragon S7, it has better memory management than the snapdragon S7, is faster in day to day usage, loads games faster and is smoother than the snapdragon S7 and the HTC 10. Don't believe me? There's a video by German dudes on KZbin making a comparison between htc 10, G5 and S7 exynos. Go see how much of a difference gap there is between the S7 and the others. You need to be objective instead of just stating your opinion.

I would not get either of them, but both of these phones are just gorgeous 2016 tech marbles. While design is very subjective whether you like glass or metal, but both look great. HTC has come back very strong this time. It has a better software and speakers in my opinion, but Samsung is water-proof and might have a subjectively better display. I call it a draw. HTC has closed down the gap, so people should leave that fanboyism aside and give it a try. Monopoly is a threat to tech!

i agree. for people who arent good with camera tech, i understand GO WITH edge definitely its the most userfriendly camera, and takes stunning photos effortlessly. but with the 10, theres a lot of customization to the photo you can adjust beforehand that will get you even better shots than the Edge. IE tone down the exposure just a tad, yourself and the photos will be phenomenal. i remember on my EVO, the same problem was present as whats going on with the 10. the pictures were high af in exposure and came out looking like the heavens were shining down on anything i took a picture of. when i toned it down myself though, they were even better than iPhone shots. rant over haha

I'd be curious, where do you think the LG G4's camera would fit in against the LG G5/HTC10/Galaxy S7? I'm interested because people still rave about the LG G4 camera and it's $299 new unlocked right now.
@gredystar83338 жыл бұрын
the thing is that the camera of the G4 has a lot of problems. the camera's glass is easier to crack than the phone's screen. then there is the same issue the nexus 7 (its a tablet) was known for, after a while the camera might get this purple or green circle right in the middle specially when taking pictures of light objects. And then there is another issue where the autofocus may stop working... it is rare but happens. lastly, it doesn't have nearly as many modes as a Samsung or HTC phone does. in summary, it isn't bad but it is known for having lots of issues

Hi Lisa! Quick question: The colors on the LG G5, G4 and now the HTC 10 all look warmer - is there any way to get this on the S7 or S7E? I was a little disgusted with the G5 build quality, and I wanted a new device from my G4 - but color representation is always a little too light on the Samsung devices. What should I be looking for? White balance? Color temp? It's to make a preset on the Galaxy. the HTC 10 pictures looked so saturated! I miss those shots :(

I've not been a fan of Samsung ever since my Galaxy S2 died (great phone for the time), but after a year of using an HTC One M7 (bad battery life, camera crapped out) and 2,5 years of using an iPhone 5s (battery life diminished, got a tiny bit laggy, still love the thing though) I was ready to give ol' Sammy another shot. It was Gear VR that pulled me back in and I'm glad it did. They finally nailed build quality since the S6, the S-Amoled screen is just gorgeous and without rival, touchwiz has been cleaned up significantly (still using nova launcher though), the batterylife is great which to me is one of the most important things in a smartphone, the camera is lightning fast, expandable storage is back, waterproofing is back, good fingerprint sensor which I can't live without anymore since the iPhone, etc So yeah, +1 for the S7 here.

Good comparison here... I went with the HTC 10 over the S7 mainly for the sound quality, adoptable storage option, and durability (both inside and outside) over time... I know three HTC power users still going strong with their old handsets (two M7s and one HK Edition M8) which is what inspired me to look into HTC's direction (that and BoomSound) when I shopped around for a more powerful replacement for my old Moto G2 (I did NOT like the Moto Z) ... Besides, my sister already has an S7...(LOL)

people think that the HTC's hi res audio makes it sound MUCH better than the s7, that's wrong. First of all, I'm considering the htc 10 myself and i am not particularly pleased with samsung, so no bias towards the s7. But the hi rez audio doesn't make all music sound good on the phone. It supports higher quality formats, which you need to download, it wont sound any different on spotify. Whats good about it is that it has an better amp, so if you have demanding headphones that require alot of power for them to run at a reasonable volume, the HTC will handle the headphones better due to its better amp.

several points: first, the double tap to wake is not really an advantage on the HTC, since Samsung has a feature where you wave your hand over the sensor to wake. second, the tech media is almost universally in agreement that the best looking phone of the year and maybe all time is the S7 Edge. 3rd I could never give up wireless charging and an AMOLED screen now that I have experienced them. and 4th, I'm addicted to Samsung's virtual reality headset so I'm happy about the USB port. honestly I don't understand people who get so passionate about having USB C and thus limiting what you can plug into it.

1. I have never seen in my life someone who wakes his phone by waving his hand over ( double tap is also on lg and there a lot of people using it. 2. Looking. Nobody said that s7 has the better design ( especially compared with the htc 10). 3. You can convert the usb c into normal usb , and in the future everyphone will have it. ( pretty sure ) 4. Amoled screens get burnt after 2 years of heavy usage. ( now is about the respectice person, if he likes oversaturated color like amoled, or a more normal look like lcd) Not even talking about the sound witch doesn't exist for samsung.
@richbrownmedia8 жыл бұрын
+GringO Gaming Regarding your comment that "nobody said that S7 has the better design"..... From the Wall Street Journal, "At this price level, HTC’s competition offers a lot that the HTC 10 can’t match, like the Samsung Galaxy S7’s waterproof body and distinctive design, and the 3D Touch display and end-to-end media and messaging services found on the Apple iPhone 6s. The Galaxy S7 starts at $680 unlocked, and the iPhone 6s starts at $650." Also, my point about the USB port is that to use VR goggles, you have to still use USB 2.0 until new headsets with 3.0 start coming out. Adding an adapter to your port to convert it to USB 2.0 would make the phone not fit the headset.

(Which it probably won't.) The S7 just offers nicer features like water resistance and a better screen. The HTC doesn't offer anything that stands out. Plus Since the camera is better on the S7, that is a major thing for me. The HTC 10 is better then last years HTC M9. But then how could it be any worse? The M9 was pretty bad. But sales of the S7 are way up at this point compared to the S6 which in of itself outsold the HTC M9 10x over. And I think the HTC M10 will just be completely forgotten about by the general public.

Samsung has water resistant but the speaker and the sound its a trash, while HTC 10 has the best sound on headphones and speakers but it has a lower water resistant... Then the other specs it depends from the preference of the person.

Melbourne Dauz The sound of the S7 is actually quite good from it's speaker. Maybe not quite up to par with the HTC 10 but it's decent. When using the headphone jack the S7 has amazing sound quality. But Samsung has been improving the dac over time too. The sound is just so vibrant on my Audio Technica ATH-M50 studio monitor headphones. :D

which phone focuses faster?! ive been asking this everywhere. anyone answer me please!

+Brisgamen i think ive read the s7 is faster. Not by much but it is faster. Probably an all round better camera although that's not taking anything away from the htc.

I like HTC 10 more: hope the camera performance will improve with some software updates, but definitely I'd choose it over S7 (better build quality, better software, much better audio): the other stuff seems to be close, while I can live without wireless charging and waterproofing!

I keep noticing this in reviews, and it really irks me. Why isn't the time/date in exactly the middle of the display when the S7 is in "sleep" mode? And can that be adjusted if it's not? (Maybe I'm crazy, but am I the only one who noticed that? Idk)

it's too avoid burn in on the screen

I hate that HTC decided to not give the US a white front for the HTC 10. I also wish it were waterproof. HTC might say that it would have compromised sound quality but they waterproof their HTC butterfly series and that sound is no slouch! :(

+Josh Arma they already have it in white for everywhere except for North America

there is a white front/ silver back version for the US
@Unchainedmaple8888 жыл бұрын
+32Natban HTC said on twitter that US will only get the black front and it's reflected on the preorder page, black front only. also no Hi res headphones out of the box in the US. does HTC hate America lol

HTC 10 has IP53 certification. Meaning it is dust resistant and water resistant to rain and very small splashes and it cannot be immersed in water. However it is a good thing to have.

Yes, GS7 Edge's home button is very clickety to the point of annoyance (IMO). It's like snapping a button everytime. Though, overall I love it. Looking forward to trying HTC10 which I am a huge fan, too ;-)

Both are top notch, but I'd pick Samsung due to multi tasking and camera features, though, I'm a Note guy.

it has boom sound and a good headphone amp, HTC won't have as good a battery life as the s7 as superior sound will take a bit more battery .

I seriously need some help here. I've been wanting to get the note 5 or waiting a few months for note 6 now I really need the pen for work. Looks like Samsung is my only choice but I'm really biased against touch wiz and the poor ram management from Samsung. My friends s7e feels so much slower than my other friends G3 with CM mod.I need some justifications buying a Samsung note phone :(

In every review I see the dull screen of the HTC 10. Is S7 so much better or is HTC 10 screen that bad.

+Garret141076 your eyes quickly adjust to the screen you're looking at, If you are going to be looking at two phone screens all the time get the s7. if you aren't then it doesn't matter that much...imo
