Great review !! I was getting a little disappointed about the Desire 816. For the price and limitations I souldnt really complain, Its still a decent phone. A few other things I picked up on. I figure after the LG Optimus lack of memory most companies would learn to add enough to make the phone useful after a few system updates. I think the reason for the power drainage is because of the LTE which uses more power. Most of the reviews used t-mobile Edge which uses less power. Thats why the battery drains so fast. I still dont get the point of locking up the battery. that part sucks the most

I got this phone on a whim. I lost my old phone at work and on my lunch break I went to my provider with an S5 in mind. I didn't have much time to spare and when I got there the dude sold me on this phone mostly because of the price. I really didn't feel like spending 400-500$ out of nowhere. It looked pretty badass for $200. I got it and really like it. I'm not a phone expert so I'm not overly picky but I do like to own a good product. I really have no complaints. My battery has a pretty good life span too. IDK, Like I said, I'm not a phone expert, and I have seen some pretty negative reviews online since I've owned it. MY Iphone friends actually like it a lot too. IDK, I just wanna know if I have a good phone as far as March 2015 is concerned.

I love this phone. Coming from the Galaxy S3 this phone blows it away in every department. The battery life is decent on my unit so yes it may be a problem with yours. Also I have the exact same keyboard you do. Lol

Thanks I getting this phone... I'm on the lg volt right now but comparing the two the lg volt has a MUCH better battery life with a 3000mha which can last me all day but great video I subbed

Got this phone like 5 months ago but was always lazy to write a review lol the battery life will never leave you with your battery dead. Just charge it any time you could, and always keep a car charger... This phone charges fast. Any way great phone for the price people actually compare it to popular phones when I pop it out

Thinking about getting this phone, I've had alot of problems with my galaxy ring. The thing I'm most afraid of is the battery life plus not being able to pull the battery out of it if it were to freeze up. Would the battery be a deal breaker?

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! I went to click on a video in my gallery and it just paused on the video. then i exited out the gallery app to the home screen and closed the app. then i go back to the gallery and the same thing happens and i repeat the process again. aftee that i go back to the gallery and no videos are working. i go to close the app and its not even showing up. so i lock the phone and unlock it then hold the button to restart. it does the vibrate when you hold the power button but nothing shows up. so i lock it and it wont even go on anymore or charge. NOTHING. Its been like this for over a half hour now... WTF DO I DO.

Make sure to close completely out of apps, sometimes they are still running in the background using your battery.

Bro just some advise stop saying its a "mid range phone" like 29 times. You're doing a virgin mobile review of the phone. So they don't have many "high range" phones. This is by far the best phone for virgin mobile, excluding the Samsung s5. But still in terms of virgin mobile, because that's what your reviewing. Its a high range top of the line phone. I'm on it right now btw.

In the camera app, tap the three little squares in the corner then click on the on the video cam that pops up and switch that to slow motion video. :D

Haters get a life, Franco spot on about the HTC 816 battery is very disappointing. I play the Zynga poker app, and I can only get 3 to 4 hours barely. The fact that you can't buy a replaceable battery makes it frustrating. The phone also lacks the ability to do a dual screen for documents and comparisons. Lacks any water resistance capability, which I think should be mandatory on all the latest smartphones, but at it price its it hold it own as a smartphone. Phone came with a back cover to hide the fingerprint issues, and as far as durability I wouldn't chance it, without buying a good screen protector and case. My 2c..!

hi dude, i recently bought this phone used from an amazon seller. i have a question/doubt, for the front faving speakers do they both produce sound or only one. on mine spund comes out from the top and when i play music i can differntiate that it is only playing more treble or bass in songs. ive never owned an htc so correct me if im wrong. thanks

Honestly I would not update it. When I updated my Desire 816 it started to slow down a lot and just made my experience crappy. It runs really great on Kit-Kat so I would suggest sticking to that. hope this helped!

I'm not sure if a skin would effect the NFC Connection but i wouldn't be surprised if it did. I don't really use NFC so i wouldn't really be much of a help but try reading the instruction manual for the ear buds, maybe that'll help. Hope you figure out a solution to your problem.

They are kind of big, but they're not a deal breaker in my opinion. You get used to them over time. and that's exactly what i'm thinking. The battery life was nothing like i expected it to be. Maybe it is a defective model. who knows.
