it is intentionally 1080p... think about usability 2k/4k sucks! gaming will suffer alot in 2k phones and the ui will be waaay faster in 1080p.

Frank Bennett I have I had the LG g3 and now I have the m9 as I work for a phone store . Battery life is a lot better on the m9 but screen wise it just has a little more colour on the LG no difference in performance on games or video

Can't believe so many people are hating on this phone. Great design, glad they brought it back. Sense looks really nice, especially with the themes. Bigger battery, plus 1080p! battery life will probably be amazing on this phone! BLINK FEED!(if you haven't used it you don't know how great it is) and dolby boom sound...might buy this phone off contract, then buy the note 5 on contract! lol well see. If the Camera holds up to iphone and samsung, ill get it.

I wish they would have kept the duo camera on the back...It was just unique and it worked really well. I'm glad they finally upgraded the camera however. That was the only thing holding the M8 back.

Don't worry this camera module has a sapphire crystal coating , so sand paper would have a hard time scratching the camera.

Pussywhistle 1st off like the name :3 lol but as the person above said they have it on there for that specific reason since a lot of m8 users complained about how the lens would be scratched up so that's their solution to address that. So really a little bit of a protrusion is a small sacrifice for the greater good in my opinion.

It's a good thing that they kept it 1080p since it will have great battery life especially compared to the Galaxy S6 which will have terrible battery life with its quad HD display and much smaller battery. That frame being a little sharp helps you hang on to the device and people said they liked the M7 flat sides because it was easier to hang on to so they gave it flat sides like people wanted. Your complaints are ones that people who don't understand things would make, sorry had to say it.

Awesome phone but the only problem is really bad after sales support, I had a M7 and M8..both had some problem with the motherboard after about a year+ of use and now they are good paper weights... I am not ready to move on to M9 for just that one reason...HTC needs to get heir act together to really mean something...I have been an HTC fan since HTC sensation...always gave them my money to get the awesome stuff they made... but the problems with M7 and M* have blown me a bit...guess I will get back to them in future, not for now...

No comment about the specs but the design..hmm, the black logo bar just looks ridiculous on m8 and m9, they should have stuck with capacitive buttons on it, i own an m7 witch i still think tops the m8 and m9 in terms of design.

They weren't able to change the bezels too much because of the boomsound speakers. They were able to thin them down a little bit though, and I think that having boomsound is a fair sacrifice.
