Moitra criticised Prime Minister Modi's speeches as hateful, asserting that the opposition won despite the Election Commission. She pointedly remarked, “A lot of words starting with the letter ‘M’ like Machli, Madarsa, Mulla, Mangalsutra were mentioned in PM Modi’s speeches throughout the election campaign, but why was Manipur never mentioned?” Moitra's address was a sharp attack on the ruling BJP.
