There are various instances where actors and actresses at the same stage in their career graphs were paid differently by a huge amount... Somewhere it is taking advantage of the notion that it is ok to pay the actress a smaller amount... Nd in the case of deepika and kangana... The amount paid to them got so much hype because it is an unusual phenomenon even in situations where the actress has more popularity than the actor. Moreover, these two actresses had stood for reduced pay gap time and again, even rejecting films at times when they were insisted on getting paid an amount not acceptable to them. Arjun Kapoor gets paid equal to or a little more than what Alia Bhatt is paid... Does that sound fair to you? Ranbir Kapoor was paid 12 times more than Anuskha Sharma for Bombay Velvet.... still the movie flopped... Did the actor guarantee audience in this regard? It has turned more into a stereotype than what is occuring in actual... Nd yes, the audience too needs to shift it's patriarchal mindset. Nd mind u, I m not protesting for equality of pay... We as an audience are accountable too! Bcoz it’s us who make them stars n create their brand value! In my office women are paid more not because to empower women because they deserve it and those women provide that service. Male actors are producer because they invest their salary on the movie. If the movie is hit then they get a profit share if loss they make zero its a risky process. They take those risks because unke naam pe chalti hai movie that is called star power. In south india sirf announce kardo "rajinikanth movie coming soon" thats it. Picture ki zabardast opening hogi. One needs to understand this

In entertainment industry pay disparity will always exists. Main reason is audience who watch the films of these stars. People go gaga over male superstar and bring in 200-300 cr at the box office and for female superstar only some like Deepika, Kangana brings money on board but it's still not comparable to the male counterparts. So, yes change is happening but there is still long way to go

They are all talking about Akshay's success now and conveniently asking for equality. The amount of hardwork, flops, financial pressure, bank pressures he must have faced none of the actresses face. Actresses only face physical issues and usual actor's hardships. He made himself worth of that business and hence the money. Just because you are a woman doesnt automatically justify equal payment in a Business.

How do u know no female leads face hardship.. evryone has issues relating to finance and other societal and family problems.. u can only see those are being highlighted to u.. There are many female leads who do good acting yet don't even get a chance to make a movie .. Definitely there is gender inequality in Bollywood. No one can deny
