People didn't applaud, they were afraid to breathe. There were people in the audience who were praying for him. The conductor started the applause. HuaHua did not come from a home with domestic violence, but he did not have a happy childhood. When he got the song and read the lyrics, he thought it was too important to rap. So he did this. He cried during rehearsal. He has a huge heart. Yes, he won.

洋葱,好多洋葱🥺😭😭Song emotional, touching and meaningfu songl 🎵. Can feel the pain💔💔. 每次听华晨宇的听都不一样,太多惊喜。Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for reacting to this amazing emotional piece. He was one of the judges/celebrity on the show The NEXT. He was challenged to rearrange this song within 24 hours and perform it. Hua Hua felt the message was very important and slowed it down to a monologue and song. This is not his story; his parents divorced when he was around 2 years old and he stayed with his Father. His Father was too busy to care for him, never praised him or showed him love. Music helped him process the loneliness, sadness and pain of his childhood. The raw emotions and heart cries he expressed are so real. You just feel his emotions. The last poignant line, "I want to still call you Papa", was added by him. I totally agree, this is a performance that needs to be watched to really appreciate it.

I think he portrayed domestic violence so well in this. During rehearsal it was very painful for him. Hua himself was not physically abused. His father was away most of the time with his work and hardly gave Hua loving support or attention he craved. For me this touched me hard as I can relate to his painful but powerful performance. As the hostess said, he turned rap into hamlet. His “cries” just broke me and his emotions are so real. Though it’s not a song per say, it shows how creative he was in presenting this song this way to bring more awareness to this issue.

I was there at that time pratically, and it was soooo heartshaking. You can never feel it by just watching a video. BTW he actually won this competition.

There is so much to say about this video performance, but I think that all that really needs to be said is "Thank you Three Musketeers for sharing this masterpiece".
Everything has been said, HuaHua is one of the best actor/singers, there's always a glimmer of hope in HuaHua's songs, even the darkest/saddest. I have a hard time watching this performance, a bit too raw, plus I haven't been in touch from near or far to domestic abuse, so it makes it harder to relate.

Always appreciate every Hua Chenyu reaction of yours. This is a masterpiece, but not exactly on my playlist 🥰 Hcys parents divorced at a very early age and he grew up with a father who was never there. Vey lonely childhood, but nothing like what this is about. He is always capable of using any past experience and bring it back to convey the true emotion in a song. Never any fake pastisj performances from HCY. And no… even though this show is not about winning or losing for a mentor.. his challenger didnt succeed

As an artist he so perfectly assumes the role of the protagonist of his songs. Could you please react his version of Nunchucks. It shows his versatility and stage precense. I love the chinese opera part !

Agree with you. This cover isn’t meant for our listening pleasure. It’s a measured performance meant to deliver a message. His parents divorced when he was 2 or three years old so it wasn’t his experience. He lived with his father who wasn’t always around for him.

I really like watching Hua's live performances, he is performing, not just singing, it's like a full packaged performance

@@TwoMusketeersReaction Yes, some people can appreciate that the art of singing includes acting as a whole performance. While some just insist that singing should just be about the quality of the singer’s vocal ability 🤷♀️🤷♀️ I personally don’t like to watch this particular performance but I won’t detract Hua’s talent and endeavours on stage 👍👍 Thanks for your fair-minded review.
I was s bit disappointed you didn't love this as much as I do, we can't love same, but I also didn't know you all heard this song before, lol. To me it is so raw pain. Had no clue that pain could be anything other than pain even if in another song.??? I didn't grow up in an abusive household, but that doesn't mean I can't see pain, portrait or real. Your interpretation was so clinical and it felt off.

hmm, we commented that from a performing perspective he delivered the emotions and message of the song very well through this extraordinary performance, we couldn't relate as we did not grew up in an abusive environment but as theatre practitioners, we truly felt the pain he conveyed through the monologue performance and his vocals in the chorus. it's a cover from a pop song back in the early 2000s, so we heard the original before and Hua's interpretation is totally different and we could say unique from the original and we give props for that! =) sorry if we sounded clinical ,or maybe it's my English translation that mislead some points we made in the video as our mother language is mandarin, I try my best to translate our points more detailed in future videos , thanks for your comment and support =)

You guys missed , especially the guy with glasses , completely missed the point about this amazing performance. As Olivia Li said irregardless of his background and whether it’s a contest or not it’s totally irrelevant ! … more importantly, did the song affect you, did it evoke any feelings ( whether you had a bad experience in your childhood or not )
@glowinkl3 жыл бұрын
Your reaction took into account irrelevant matters like how jay chou sang it or HCY’s background and if it was a contest or not … IRRELEVANT 🤣 …. It’s a show, react to the show what you see. As 张艺兴 said later , 这就是艺术. First time watching you guys , but disappointed at your poor analysis, will have a look at a few more to see if your other reactions are similarly mindless, clueless or not.

first of all, thanks for your comment on our video, it means a lot for us to receive comments and space of discussion towards our point of views, as we are not professional singers or musicians, this is what we do as our interest. as music is a form of art, I can say art is subjective, so I guess we have our own views and takes on performances right? so sorry that you did not enjoy our review and thoughts, and we hope you won't find our other videos mindless and clueless, as we are not professional musician or artist let me stress again. you might find our comments amateur, or totally based on our feelings as most of our reactions are first time reactions, we never pre watch the video or purposely do tons of research on the song or singer. we agree that Hua is definitely a talented artist, and we enjoy watching his performances especially his live ones, it is always interesting to watch him cover different songs and totally make them his own, or just by performing his own originals. thank you once again and pleasure to have you with us at least in this video =)

I have watched few of their reactions of Hua, and for most part their reactions have been appreciative and even emotional. Yes I am a little surprised that it may not have affected them as deeply as some of us. I agree, that regardless of what the stage was set for, the performance itself personally ripped me apart. Even though it’s painful, I really appreciate his artistic performance and that is why I watch reactors to see their perception.
@glowinkl3 жыл бұрын
My point was they based their reactions on totally irrelevant factors, which should not have played a part in their reaction. Of course they were doing this out of interest , that’s clear but it shows they lack comprehension and depth of reactors. It’s not just about reacting to HCY but I suspect they lack depth in their approach and analysis on any reactions.
