Sufficient, not excessive. Know that it's what the baby need that their body would take in, it's not what you give. Not many people are deficient unless you're a third world pregnant mother.

Having too much would cause more severe problems. Excessive iron would cause developmental problem.
Didn't the doctor say the baby is tiny as heck? There won't be any need for extra nutrients, and if yes then the mother would naturally want to eat them. Know that the mother's body has mechanism to prioritize the baby first, so often times, even in very poor countries where the mothers are starving, the baby developed at normal standard.
