小豆島(しょうどしま)は瀬戸内海に位置し、香川県小豆郡(しょうずぐん)に属する島です。 小豆島シリーズのエピソード 10 は、国指定天然記念物の皇子神社(おうじじんじゃ)の社叢(しゃそう)です⛩ GoogleMap → maps.app.goo.gl/mdT6crDMYBii6WuQ8 🟦SDGs14海の豊かさを守ろう🐟　🟩陸の豊かさも守ろう🌲 皇子神社(おうじじんじゃ)は小豆島の三都(みと)半島南端にあります。 社叢(しゃそう)とは、神社の神殿や参道を囲むようにある森林のことです。いわゆる鎮守の森です🌲 皇子神社の社叢は標高６０メートルの円錐形の丘陵で一見島の様に見えます。 ここにはウバメガシを中心にイブキやクロマツなど、さまざまな種類の樹木が茂っていることと、 海岸は断崖となっており、花崗岩を玄武岩が貫く地質学的にも重要な地層を見ることができることなどで、1928年に天然記念物に指定された様です。 マントルに直結している安山岩の柱状節理も見ることができます。柱状節理とは火山から流れ出た溶岩が、ゆっくり冷え固まって、規則正し い六角形の柱のような割れ目です🥷♡
