*EDIT: Amatsuki's MV is now updated with the official English subtitles by his team, please turn on the CC! I'll remove my translation here to respect the one who did the official translations, but I'll still keep some lines, although please don't take mine as a reference-- rather, take it merely as an explanation!* Amatsuki's a truly good lyricist. The lyrics for this song is REALLY beautiful with its vivid descriptions of the nature, it really shows Amatsuki's view of the world, but 1:19 has the most heartwarming lines for me. 「君が君を愛せるような 世界でありますように」 -- He's basically praying, "May the world be a place where you can love yourself." It's also what he wrote in the description right before the list of credits of those who have participated in the making of this song and MV. 1:08 Even when the path is enveloped by twilight, (1) even when the birds are sleeping by the water's edge (2) May the world be a place where you can love yourself 2:05 The ukifune (floating boat) was swept away (3) The water droplets that fall from leaves, fading into glistening dews (4) Within everyone that lives in this transient world, the proof of life resonates 3:39 Swaying and swaying; the wind is wandering about, just as how my heart wishes for O flower, O moon; now blossom in full glory Let us meet in the near future world I will not wake up from a dream about you (5) (1) The term for twilight, *tasogare* here can also mean past one's prime years, nearing its end. (2) The term for water's edge (the point where surface of the water meets the land), *mizugiwa* can also refer to the point before one enters a country-- and used in the context of "preventing something bad from happening". (3) While *ukifune* is literally a small boat set adrift on the surface of water, often used as a comparison to being "helpless" or "unreliable", it is also a reference to the nickname of an unrecognized princess in The Tale of Genji, where she tried to run from a love triangle but in the end her story had no conclusion to it. (4) This expression is used to subtly show the _transition of summer into autumn_ as the seasonal word *aoshigure* (water droplets falling from leaves) is only used for summer, and *shiratsuyu* (glistening dews) is used for autumn. (5) Old Japanese spelling 想ふ is used here instead of the standard 思う, it implies "imagining you in my heart" (contrary to the latter that implies "imagining you in my head"). This expression is also used to subtly express _I'm in love with you/I miss you/I admire you_ since saying things directly weren't a Thing™ back then. *Explanation about the song title, Kachou Fuuei:* Kachou Fuuei, literal meaning "The Poetic Composition of Flowers and Birds" (I am emphasizing on the "literal", it'd be much better to refer to this song as 'Kachou Fuuei' unless there's an official English title from Amatsuki), is actually a principle in modern haiku: where an ideal poet is one who writes about the natural phenomena of the four seasons and their accompanying human affairs in a 'purely scenic manner, without any preconceived notions.' Kachou Fuuei was first advocated by Takahama Kyoshi in 1927. This sole term represents how the beauties of nature (represented by "Kachou", flowers and birds) can blend in with the human affairs (represented by "Fuuei", poetic composition) throughout the change in seasons. Fun fact: Kyoshi was also the one who advocated the usage of seasonal words (or, kigo 季語) in modern haiku despite how there was a trend of using non-seasonal words at that time -- and in honor of that, Amatsuki did use seasonal words as depicted in (4). -- Song written for an otome game,

this song is the embodiment of cherry blossoms and its fleeting nature. a song that floats on shallow waters as the wind guides the melody, and moon reflects on the subtle waves. a bittersweet tune,, i love it sm im gonna smooch this song

@@flamksss9324 this makes me very curious ehe - may i have your user if that's alright?
Somehow, this song feels very different from most of Ama-san's songs. . . but it's beautiful in its own way. I think that's the magic of listening to Japanese songs; you don't need to understand, just listen and then you can feel what they're singing about
(i understand nothing but-) BLESS THIS HOLY SONG, THE LYRICS (which, again, i understand nothing of), VOCALS, ILLUST, MUSIC, MIXING, ARRANGMENT, EVERYTHING IS JUST *chef kisses*
Who needs to understand the lyrics when you can hear the emotion in his voice

I just listened to this, then thought: Huh... The singer sounds like Takatsuna!? Then I realized Amatsuki voiced him OMG EISJSKSKSKS THIS IS SO GOOD, IT'S HITTING ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS. A very fitting theme for Shanao and her story. I just recently finished Tomomori's route, and this just amplified the emotions in my heart. Thank you very much for sharing this with us!!
Yes, every main character and even subs of Birushana have their special items in the MV. It is really wonderful.

I'm watching this just before I tackle "BIRUSHANA: Rising Flower of Genpei". I've heard that you also voiced one of the side characters in the game (Takatsuna), so this will surely be a treat. 👍
